Position: Quality Manager
Function: Quality Assurance & Control

Role Purpose
To lead the Quality Assurance and Quality Control function for the Bangalore operations, ensuring end‑to‑end compliance with AS9100 and aerospace customer‑specific requirements, driving a zero‑escapes culture across machining commodities and assemblies, and owning quality performance and customer confidence from project initiation through to final delivery.
Key Roles & Responsibilities
- Lead the Quality Assurance & Quality Control function for the Bangalore facility end‑to‑end — from receiving inspection through in‑process control to final inspection and dispatch — ensuring compliance with AS9100 Rev D and customer‑specific requirements.
- Develop, implement and maintain the Quality Management System (QMS); establish and control Quality Plans (QP), Inspection Plans and Control Plans; and review and approve inspection reports and product‑release documentation.
- Establish and maintain the inspection & test facility, including calibration control, measurement‑system capability (MSA) and CMM inspection, ensuring gauges and equipment remain capable and traceable.
- Lead the Material Review Board (MRB) process for disposition of Non‑Conformance Reports (NCRs) and Quality Escapes; drive root‑cause analysis, CAPA and 8D closure; and manage the APQP, PPAP and FAI (AS9102) processes.
- Own supplier quality — supplier audits, qualification, performance monitoring and development — to secure a compliant and reliable supply base.
- Act as the primary quality interface with customers during audits, source inspections, complaint handling, product‑acceptance activities, LAI, FAI, PPAP and APQP.
- Maintain quality records and documentation per applicable guidelines; track and report quality performance (KPIs, escapes, cost of poor quality) to management.
- Lead, mentor and develop the quality team, embedding a zero‑escapes culture and continuous‑improvement mindset across machining commodities and assemblies.
- Hold accountability for project performance from the Quality function — compliance to requirements, zero escapes, and successful customer audits and qualification of source, product and process.
Candidate Qualifications & Experience
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical or Aeronautical Engineering, with 10–12 years of aerospace‑domain experience in manufacturing quality. Machining commodities and assemblies preferred, with knowledge of special processes.
- Strong knowledge of AS9100, AS9102, AS9145 and AS9138; ISO 14001 and ISO 45001; and AMS, MIL, ASTM, MS and AS standards, together with aerospace customer‑specific requirements.
- Ability to interpret engineering drawings, GD&T and customer / industry specifications.
- Proficiency in quality tools and techniques such as FMEA, SPC, MSA, APQP, PPAP and 8D.
- Knowledge of aerospace special processes — heat treatment, chemical processing and surface treatment.
- Knowledge of CMM inspection and measurement systems; CMM programming an added advantage.
- Certified auditor (AS9100 / lead‑auditor) and/or CQE or Six Sigma qualification is an added advantage.
