Job summary

Solar Industries India Limited in Hyderabad seeks a Senior QA/QC Lead to own mission assurance for complex defense programs, guiding quality lifecycles from design and high-precision manufacturing to field deployment.

You will drive QMS compliance (ISO9001, AS9100 Rev D, MIL STD), lead ITPs, root-cause analysis, supplier quality, and multi-site mentoring while ensuring zero-defect performance in critical environments.

Qualifications

• BE/BTech/ME/MTech in Aerospace/Mechanical/ECE/Electronics.
• 15+ years in QA/QC in Defence/Aerospace with 5+ years in a senior leadership role.
• Deep expertise in MILSTD 461G/810H, MILHDBK 217 and GD&T.
• Six Sigma Black Belt or Master Black Belt; ASQ CQM or PMP preferred.
• Experience with government contracts and DGAQA/DRDO protocols is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Strategic Quality Governance: Architect and enforce the QMS per ISO9001, AS9100 Rev D and MIL STD.
• End-to-End Testing Strategy: Direct ITPs for propulsion, guidance systems and warhead integration.
• Root Cause & Failure Analysis: Lead investigations using 8D, Fishbone, FMEA for preventive solutions.
• Supply Chain Quality Leadership: Verify sources and prepare supplier standards/ratings.
• Multi-Site Team Mentorship: Oversee Quality Engineers and Inspectors across sites.
• Documentation: Review QA/QC documents per standards such as JSG0251/JSG0852.

Job description

The Senior QA/QC Lead, the candidate will serve as the primary authority on mission assurance for complex Defense programs. You will be responsible for the strategic oversight of total quality life cycles; from design and high-precision manufacturing to final field deployment; ensuring zero-defect performance in high-stakes environments.

Responsibilities

• Strategic Quality Governance: Architect and enforce the overarching Quality Management System (QMS) compliant with ISO9001, AS9100 Rev D and MIL STD requirements. Align project quality goals with organizational business objectives.
• End-to-End Testing Strategy: Direct the creation and validation of complex Inspection and Test Plans (ITPs) for propulsion, guidance systems, and warhead integration.
• Root Cause & Failure Analysis: Lead high-level technical investigations into systemic failures or critical non-conformances (NCRs), utilizing advanced methodologies (e.g., 8D, Fishbone, FMEA) to implement preventive long-term solutions.
• Supply Chain Quality Leadership: Verify quality and veracity of sources of supply for various projects followed by preparation of standards/ rating matrix for the suppliers.
• Multi-Site Team Mentorship: Oversee a multidisciplinary team of Quality Engineers and Inspectors across multiple sites, fostering a culture of technical excellence and rigorous safety compliance.
• Documentation: Oversee and review preparation of QA/ QC documentation as per JSG0251/ JSG0852/ other relevant standards.

Qualifications

• Education: BE/BTech/ME/MTech in Aerospace/ Mechanical,/ECE/ Electronics Engineering.
• Experience: 15+ years in QA/QC within the Defence or Aerospace sectors, with at least 5 years in a senior leadership/departmental head capacity.
• Technical Mastery: Deep expertise in specialized Defence standards (e.g., MILSTD 461G/ 810H, MILHDBK 217, JSS55555 etc) and advanced Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T).
• Certifications: Six Sigma Black Belt or Master Black Belt required; ASQ Certified Quality Manager (CQM) or PMP is highly preferred.
• Project Clearance: Extensive experience with government contract compliance and DGAQA/DRDO protocols is a plus.
