Job summary

Fortune Consultancy seeks a General Manager QA/QC to lead quality excellence across the organization for high-reliability defense electronics and military-grade systems. You will drive the QA/QC vision from R&D and design validation to manufacturing and lifecycle support, ensuring zero-failure compliance for DRDO, ISRO, Indian Armed Forces, and international OEMs.

The role requires executive leadership, robust regulatory coordination, and deep expertise in MIL-STD-810G/461G and CEMILAC

Qualifications

• B.E./B.Tech in Electronics & Communication (ECE) or Electrical Engineering.
• M.Tech/MBA/Quality Master’s, Six Sigma Black Belt or Lead Auditor certification desirable.
• 30–35 years of progressive QA/QC experience in Defense Electronics, Aerospace, or high-reliability electronics.

Responsibilities

• Establish a world-class QMS compliant with AS9100D, ISO 9001:2015, and CEMILAC; drive zero-defect culture.
• Lead liaison with defense regulatory bodies (DGAQA, MSQAA, DGCA, CEMILAC); oversee CCB and DRB.
• Direct environmental qualification strategy under MIL-STD-810G and MIL-STD-461G.
• Provide strategic direction for IQC, In-Process QC, and FQC of defense electronics and RF/microwave modules.
• Govern global supplier quality frameworks; lead vendor qualification audits and enforce CAPA.
• Institute RCA methodologies (8D, 5-Why, Fishbone) and lead Lean/Six Sigma to improve first-pass yield.

Job Description:

General Manager QAC to serve as the apex custodian of quality excellence and strategic compliance across the organization. With over three decades of domain authority, you will drive the QA/QC vision across the entire product lifecycle from indigenous R&D and design validation to complex manufacturing and lifecycle support ensuring flawless execution and zero-failure compliance for high-reliability systems serving DRDO, ISRO, Indian Armed Forces, and international Defense OEMs.

Key Responsibilities:

• Establish and sustain a world-class QMS compliant with AS9100D, ISO 9001:2015, and CEMILAC standards; drive a zero-defect culture across engineering and manufacturing divisions
• Lead liaison with defense regulatory bodies (DGAQA, MSQAA, DGCA, CEMILAC); oversee Configuration Control Boards and Design Review Boards
• Direct environmental qualification strategy, including ESS and EMI/EMC compliance under MIL-STD-810G and MIL-STD-461G
• Provide strategic direction for IQC, In-Process QC, and FQC of Defense Electronics, RF/Microwave modules, radar subsystems, and avionics racks
• Govern global supplier quality frameworks; lead vendor qualification audits and enforce CAPA across the supply chain
• Institutionalize RCA methodologies (8D, 5-Why, Fishbone) for field/manufacturing issues; lead Lean/Six Sigma initiatives to improve first-pass yield and reduce COPQ

Technical & Functional Competencies:

• Deep expertise in MIL-STD-810G, MIL-STD-461G, IPC-A-610/J-STD-001 (Class 3), CEMILAC guidelines
• Proven experience in environmental stress screening, vibration/thermal vacuum testing, high-frequency RF testing
• Expert-level standing with DGAQA and military airworthiness/quality agencies

Preferred candidate profile

Candidate Profile:

• Education: B.E./B.Tech in Electronics & Communication (ECE) or Electrical Engineering. M.Tech/MBA/Quality Master's, Six Sigma Black Belt, or Lead Auditor certification highly desirable
• Experience: 3035 years of progressive QA/QC experience in Defense Electronics, Aerospace, or High-Reliability Electronics, with proven executive leadership heading multi-tiered quality departments
• Soft Skills: Exceptional leadership stature, executive communication, strategic agility, strong negotiation with regulatory authorities and client leadership
