Job summary

Hyring is seeking a QA Engineer to own quality from start to finish. You will manually test features, build and maintain Playwright test suites, and leverage AI tools to speed up testing.

Collaborate with developers and product managers to catch issues early, ensuring fast, dependable releases. The role covers both UI and API testing with a focus on robust quality ownership.

Qualifications

• 2+ years of software QA experience, including manual and automated testing.
• Strong understanding of QA methodologies, the SDLC/STLC, and Agile/Scrum.
• Experience testing REST APIs with Postman or Playwright API testing.
• Proficient with Git and CI/CD workflows; Jira or TestRail usage.

Responsibilities

• Review requirements and user stories to write test plans and test cases.
• Log bugs with steps to reproduce and verify fixes.
• Design, build and maintain Playwright UI and API test suites.
• Add automated tests to the CI/CD pipeline so they run on every build and release.
• Keep tests stable and fast by addressing flaky tests and managing test data.
• Use AI tools to generate test cases and data; test AI-powered features.
• Track quality metrics and report on test coverage, defect leakage and pass rates.

Job description

Hyring is hiring a QA Engineer to own the quality of our product from start to finish. You'll test new features by hand, build and maintain Playwright test suites, and use AI tools to make testing faster and smarter.

You'll work closely with developers and product managers. Your job is to catch issues early, so each release is fast and dependable.

Key responsibilities

Manual testing

• Review requirements and user stories, then write clear test plans and test cases
• Log bugs with clear steps to reproduce, then track them until they're fixed and verified

Automated testing

• Design, build and maintain end-to-end UI and API test suites using Playwright
• Add automated tests to the CI/CD pipeline so they run on every build and release
• Keep tests stable and fast by fixing flaky tests and keeping test data under control
• Use AI tools to generate test cases, test data and test scripts faster
• Test our AI-powered features for accuracy, consistency and edge cases
• Find repetitive QA work and automate it with AI agents or scripts

Quality ownership

• Make the release go/no-go call on quality alongside the engineering team
• Track and report quality metrics such as test coverage, defect leakage and pass rates
• Push for better testing practices across the team

Requirements

• 2+ years of experience in software QA, covering both manual and automated testing
• Solid grasp of QA methods, the SDLC/STLC and Agile/Scrum
• Experience testing REST APIs with Postman or Playwright's API testing
• Has used AI tools such as ChatGPT, Claude or GitHub Copilot to speed up QA work
• Experience with Git and CI/CD tools such as GitHub Actions or Jenkins
• Experience with bug tracking and test management tools such as Jira or TestRail
• Sharp eye for detail and clear written communication
