Job summary

Zemoso Technologies is seeking a QA Engineer with 3-6 years of experience to join our Bangalore team on-site. You will plan, design, and execute test strategies across the SDLC, collaborate with developers and product teams, and help ensure software quality and customer satisfaction.

You will implement test automation, work with CI/CD pipelines, and advocate for quality best practices while staying updated on new testing tools and methodologies to improve our testing processes.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in computer science, IT, engineering, or a related field.
• 3–6 years of development and/or QA testing experience.
• Experience with test automation frameworks such as Playwright, Selenium, Cypress or Puppeteer.
• Experience with SQL and RESTful API testing using Postman or REST Assured.
• Experience with defect tracking and test management tools (e.g., Jira, Azure DevOps).
• Experience with CI/CD tools and Agile practices.

Responsibilities

• Design and implement comprehensive test plans to verify functional requirements, performance, and usability.
• Perform regression, integration, functional, performance, manual, and exploratory testing.
• Collaborate with stakeholders and delivery teams to ensure quality early in SDLC.
• Manage defects with clear reproduction steps and expected results.
• Support UAT and document results and corrective actions.
• Contribute to quality advocacy and share practices with the QA community.

Role Overview

The Quality Assurance (QA) Engineer plays a vital role in ensuring the delivery of high-quality software products and customer satisfaction. This role involves planning, implementing, and automating various testing strategies throughout the Software Development Lifecycle (SDLC). QA Engineers work closely in cross-functional teams, including stakeholders, developers, and delivery team members, to ensure that the product meets stakeholder expectations and business requirements.

Experience Profile

• Overall experience: At least 3-6 years of development and/or QA testing experience.
• Core engineering background: Strong knowledge of software QA methodologies, tools, and processes.
• QA experience: Hands-on experience writing test automation scripts, and designing and implementing test plans.

Key Responsibilities

Test Planning & Execution

• Design and implement comprehensive test plans to verify functional requirements, performance, and usability of both new and existing software products.
• Perform regression, integration, functional, performance, manual, and exploratory testing to identify unexpected issues and gain a deeper understanding of the system.
• Perform regression testing of the system to ensure new functionality does not impact existing functionality.
• Assist business stakeholders or end users in conducting user acceptance testing (UAT) to ensure the software meets business requirements.
• Document test results, analyze findings, and recommend corrective actions.

Test Automation & Integration

• Plan, create, execute, and automate test cases using specialized tools and scripts to ensure thorough testing of the software.
• Identify opportunities to reduce testing time and effort by automating repeatable tests, and enhance and maintain the test automation framework.
• Work with CI/CD pipelines to integrate automated tests into the build process.
• Ensure test environments are set up for optimal testing conditions.
• Collaborate with delivery team members, product management, and other stakeholders to integrate testing into the development process and provide valuable input on potential quality issues early in the SDLC.
• Manage defect (bug) tickets, including clear steps to reproduce and expected results, and advocate for the resolution of found defects.
• Utilize Agile/Scrum practices to enhance the development process.

Quality Advocacy

• Contribute and promote quality and testing best practices throughout the organization.
• Collaborate and share information with other software QA engineers by participating in a community of practice.
• Stay updated with the latest testing methodologies and tools, and research, recommend, and implement new testing technologies and practices.

Must-Have Skills

• Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related field.
• 3-6 years of development and/or QA testing experience.
• Familiarity with test automation frameworks (e.g., "Playwright, Selenium, Cypress, Puppeteer").
• Experience with SQL, and familiarity with RESTful API testing using tools like Postman or REST Assured.
• Experience with defect tracking and test management tools (e.g., "Jira, Azure DevOps").
• Experience with Continuous Integration/Continuous Deployment (CI/CD) tools.
• Strong knowledge of agile practices, high attention to detail, and excellent problem-solving skills.
• Effective verbal and written communication skills for both technical and non-technical audiences, with the ability to work effectively in a team and take ownership of tasks.

Nice-to-Have Skills

• Experience with application performance monitoring and observability tools (e.g., "New Relic, Dynatrace").
• Demonstrate knowledge of accessibility standards and guidelines (such as WCAG, ADA, and Section 508) and their application in software testing.
• Relevant certifications (e.g., "ISTQB") are advantageous.
• Willingness to learn and adapt to new challenges.
