Ropay Limited Liability Partnership in Bengaluru is seeking a mobile testing engineer to ensure quality across native Android and iOS apps, API layers, and backend services. You will perform end-to-end functional, regression, and UI testing, and collaborate with developers and DevOps to track defects.

You will use Android Studio and Xcode for debugging, Postman/Newman for API testing, ELK Stack for log analysis, and SQL queries to verify data integrity.

Role & responsibilities

Mobile Testing (Android & iOS)

• Perform end-to-end functional, regression, and UI testing on native Android and iOS apps.
• Use Android Studio (Logcat, Layout Inspector, Profiler) to debug crashes, memory issues, and rendering problems across devices and OS versions.
• Use Xcode / Instruments for equivalent iOS debugging and crash log analysis.
• Test key mobile edge cases: network interruptions, background/foreground transitions, notifications, permissions, and deep links.

API & Backend Testing

• Design, execute, and automate API test suites using Postman and Newman, including CI-integrated collection runs.
• Validate backend behavior for correctness, error handling, and security (auth, input validation, rate limiting).
• Write SQL queries to verify data integrity and backend logic.

Log Monitoring & Root-Cause Analysis

• Use the ELK Stack (Elasticsearch, Logstash, Kibana) to search and correlate error logs across mobile crashes, APIs, and backend services.
• Build dashboards/saved searches in Kibana to spot error patterns during regression and release cycles.
• Trace bugs from symptom to root cause, connecting app behavior to backend logs and database state.

Collaboration

• Work with developers, product managers, and DevOps to log, prioritize, and track defects to resolution.
• Write clear bug reports with device/OS info, API payloads, and relevant log excerpts.

Preferred candidate profile

• Mobile testing (must-have): hands-on experience testing native or hybrid Android and iOS apps, with comfort using Android Studio and Xcode.
• API testing: strong expertise with Postman and Newman.
• Log analysis: working proficiency with the ELK Stack.
• Database skills: ability to write SQL queries for backend testing.
• Strong analytical mindset and clear communication skills.

Nice to Have

• AWS cloud experience.
• Mobile automation frameworks (Appium, Espresso, XCUITest).
• CI/CD exposure (Jenkins, GitHub Actions, Bitrise, Fastlane).
• ISTQB Foundation Level certification.
