Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Analyze requirements and prepare test scenarios, test cases, and data.
• Perform manual, functional, regression, integration, system, and end-to-end testing.
• Develop and maintain automation scripts using Java and Selenium.
• Use BDD frameworks such as Cucumber for feature files and steps.
• Execute tests, analyze results, and identify defects.
• Log, track, and manage defects with Jira or similar tools.
• Perform API testing and validate backend responses.
• Validate workflows, business rules, data, and integrations.
• Test applications deployed on AWS cloud environments.
• Collaborate with developers, analysts, and product owners to resolve defects.
• Participate in sprint planning, defect triage, and release activities.

We are looking for an experienced QA Manual Tester with strong hands‑on experience in functional testing, Java, Selenium, BDD, and AWS. The ideal candidate should have strong knowledge of software testing methodologies and experience working on Insurance domain applications.

The candidate will be responsible for understanding business requirements, designing test scenarios, executing test cases, identifying defects, and collaborating with development and business teams to ensure high-quality software delivery.

Key Responsibilities

• Analyze business and functional requirements and prepare comprehensive test scenarios, test cases, and test data.
• Perform manual, functional, regression, integration, system, and end‑to‑end testing.
• Develop and maintain automation scripts using Java and Selenium WebDriver.
• Work with BDD frameworks such as Cucumber for creating feature files and step definitions.
• Execute test scripts and analyze test results to identify application issues.
• Log, track, and manage defects using tools such as Jira or similar defect management tools.
• Perform API testing and validate backend responses where required.
• Validate application workflows, business rules, data, and integrations.
• Perform testing of applications deployed on or integrated with AWS cloud environments.
• Collaborate with developers, business analysts, product owners, and other stakeholders to resolve defects.
• Participate in requirement discussions, sprint planning, defect triage, and release activities.
• Prepare test execution reports and communicate testing status, risks, and issues to stakeholders.
• Ensure adequate test coverage across functional and regression testing cycles.

Mandatory Skills

• Strong hands‑on experience in Manual Testing.
• Good programming knowledge in Java.
• Hands‑on experience with Selenium WebDriver.
• Strong experience with BDD and Cucumber.
• Experience in functional, regression, integration, system, and end‑to‑end testing.
• Good understanding of STLC, SDLC, defect lifecycle, and testing methodologies.
• Experience working with Jira or similar defect/test management tools.
• Good understanding of SQL/database validation.
• Exposure to API testing using tools such as Postman or similar.
• Working knowledge of AWS services and cloud‑based application testing.
• Strong understanding of test case design, test execution, defect reporting, and root‑cause analysis.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder coordination skills.

Insurance Domain Experience

Candidates with hands‑on experience in the Insurance domain are preferred, particularly experience with:

• Policy administration
• Insurance products and policy lifecycle
• Quote and proposal processing
• Claims processing
• Underwriting workflows
• Premium and billing processes
• Customer/agent portals
• Insurance‑related integrations and business rules

Good to Have

• Experience with Jenkins / CI‑CD pipelines.
• Knowledge of Git/GitHub/GitLab.
• Experience with Maven or Gradle.
• Experience with REST API automation/testing.
• Exposure to AWS services such as EC2, S3, CloudWatch, Lambda, or RDS.
• Experience working in Agile/Scrum environments.
