Job summary

Careator Technologies is seeking a QA Engineer to own quality across Web, Mobile, APIs, and backend services. The role emphasizes automation with Playwright, API testing, and strong observability to troubleshoot production issues in a retail/eCommerce environment.

You will work closely with Product and Engineering teams to ensure high-quality releases and robust customer journeys across digital platforms.

Qualifications

• Experience in QA for web, mobile, APIs and backend services.
• Retail/eCommerce domain expertise with understanding of customer journeys.
• Hands-on Playwright automation and maintaining test frameworks.
• Strong API testing skills including REST, Postman, and contract testing.
• Proficient in observability tools and debugging distributed systems.

Responsibilities

• Own quality across the product area from requirements to production.
• Design and execute test strategy, including E2E, regression, and integration tests.
• Collaborate with Product, Engineering and Business stakeholders.
• Lead root cause investigations and drive quality improvements.
• Mentor juniors and promote best practices in quality engineering.

QA Engineer / Quality Engineer (Automation/ Manual)

What we are looking for

We are seeking a highly motivated QA Engineer who can take end-to-end ownership of quality across Web, Mobile, APIs, and backend services. The ideal candidate should have strong retail/eCommerce domain experience and be comfortable investigating complex production issues using observability tools and network debugging utilities.

Mandatory Skills

Domain Expertise

• Retail / eCommerce domain experience (Grocery, Marketplace, Fulfilment, Checkout, Orders, Payments, Subscription, Customer Journeys)
• Strong understanding of customer-facing digital journeys

Automation Testing

• Hands-on experience with Playwright (Mandatory)
• Experience designing and maintaining automation frameworks
• E2E, Regression, Smoke, and Integration testing
• CI/CD execution of automated test suites

API Testing

• Strong understanding of REST APIs
• Hands-on experience with:
  • Postman
  • API validation
  • Contract testing
  • Request/Response analysis
  • Authentication mechanisms (OAuth/JWT)

Troubleshooting & Observability

• Experience using:
  • Splunk
  • New Relic
  • Any observability platforms
• Ability to:

Network Analysis

• Charles Proxy experience (Mandatory)
