Job summary

Persistent Systems in Pune is seeking a highly motivated QA Engineer (Automation) to design and execute manual and automated test scenarios, with Playwright expertise, to ensure high-quality enterprise applications. You will work in an Agile environment, develop automated tests, perform functional/regression/integration testing, and collaborate with developers and analysts to validate business requirements.

2–5 years of experience, CS/IT/Engineering degree, and STLC/SDLC knowledge are expected.

Qualifications

We are looking for a highly motivated QA Engineer (Automation) with experience in Playwright, Test Automation, and Web Application Testing to ensure the quality and reliability of enterprise applications. The ideal candidate will be responsible for designing and executing manual and automated test scenarios, identifying defects, validating business requirements, and contributing to the continuous improvement of quality engineering practices. This role offers an opportunity to work in a collaborative Agile environment while driving automation excellence and delivering high-quality software releases.

What You'll Do:

• Design, develop, and execute comprehensive test cases and test scenarios based on business and functional requirements.
• Perform functional, regression, integration, and end-to-end testing to validate application quality.
• Develop and maintain automated test scripts using Playwright or ReqNRoll.
• Execute test suites, analyse results, and ensure test coverage across critical business flows.
• Identify, document, track, and verify defects using defect management tools.
• Collaborate with developers, business analysts, and stakeholders to understand requirements and resolve issues.
• Participate in test planning, test estimation, and release validation activities.
• Create and maintain test documentation, including test plans, test cases, and test execution reports.
• Support continuous improvement initiatives to enhance testing processes, automation frameworks, and quality standards.

Expertise You'll Bring:

• Hands-on experience in test case design, creation, execution, and defect management.
• Strong experience in test automation using Playwright or ReqNRoll.
• Solid understanding of Software Testing Life Cycle (STLC) and Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC).
• Experience in functional, regression, integration, and system testing.
• Ability to analyse requirements and translate them into effective test scenarios.
• Experience with defect tracking and test management tools.
• Knowledge of API testing and web application testing is preferred.
• Familiarity with Agile/Scrum methodologies.
• Strong problem-solving, analytical, and communication skills.
• Ability to work independently and collaborate with cross-functional teams.
• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related technical discipline.
• Relevant software testing certifications will be an added advantage.
