Job summary

NuPlay AI is seeking a QA Engineer to own the quality charter for the NuPlay platform, a hands-on role focused on scalable test automation, platform reliability, and quality standards across web applications, APIs, dashboards, webhooks, and enterprise integrations.

You will collaborate with Product and Engineering to ensure every release is production-ready through automation, performance testing, and AI-assisted quality tooling.

Qualifications

• 3–6 years of QA and test automation experience.
• Hands-on experience with Playwright, Cypress or Selenium.
• Programming skills in Python, JavaScript/TypeScript, or Java.
• Strong API testing experience with REST APIs, webhooks and async workflows.
• Experience integrating automation into CI/CD (GitHub Actions, GitLab CI, Jenkins).
• Strong SQL skills for data validation and testing.
• Familiarity with logs, traces, and observability for debugging.

Responsibilities

• Own testing strategy, quality gates and automation coverage.

Job description

We are looking for a QA Engineer to own the quality charter for the NuPlay platform. This is a hands-on engineering role focused on building scalable test automation, improving platform reliability, and establishing quality standards across web applications, APIs, dashboards, webhooks, and enterprise integrations. You will work closely with Product and Engineering teams to ensure every release is production-ready through automation, performance testing, and AI-assisted quality tooling.

The candidate will have responsibilities across the following functions:

Test Strategy and Quality Ownership:

• Define and maintain the testing strategy across the NuPlay platform.
• Establish release criteria, quality gates, and automation coverage standards.
• Partner with Product and Engineering teams throughout the development lifecycle.

Test Automation:

• Build and maintain end-to-end automation suites using Playwright, Cypress, or Selenium.
• Develop API automation for REST APIs, webhooks, and asynchronous workflows.
• Ensure automation suites are reliable, parallelised, and integrated into CI/CD pipelines.
• Reduce flaky tests and improve automation reliability.

Performance and Reliability Testing:

• Design and execute load, stress, and soak tests for APIs and platform services.
• Identify performance bottlenecks and collaborate with engineering teams on fixes.
• Monitor application health and proactively detect reliability issues.

AI-Driven Quality Engineering:

• Use AI/LLM tools for test case generation, automation maintenance, synthetic test data, and log analysis.
• Evaluate where AI improves testing quality and engineering productivity.

Quality Leadership:

• Drive bug triage, root cause analysis, and prevention-focused quality practices.
• Mentor QA engineers and improve engineering quality standards.
• Ensure quality risks are identified during design rather than after development.

Requirements:

• 3-6 years of experience in QA and Test Automation.
• Strong experience with Playwright, Cypress, or Selenium.
• Programming experience in Python, JavaScript/TypeScript, or Java.
• Strong API testing experience (REST APIs, authentication, webhooks, asynchronous workflows).
• Experience with Postman, REST Assured, Pact, or similar API testing tools.
• Hands-on experience integrating automation into GitHub Actions, GitLab CI, Jenkins, or CI/CD pipelines.
• Strong SQL skills for data validation and testing.
• Experience using logs, traces, and observability tools for debugging.
• Strong analytical thinking and communication skills.

Good to Have:

• Experience testing AI, ML, or LLM-based products.
• Performance testing using k6 JMeter, Gatling, or Locust.
• Experience with Docker, Kubernetes, or cloud-based test environments.
• Experience testing enterprise SaaS integrations and webhooks.
• Knowledge of security and compliance testing.
• Experience as the first or senior QA engineer in a startup or product team.
• Strong ownership mindset.
• Passion for automation and engineering quality.
• Ability to identify edge cases and production risks.
• Experience building testing frameworks, not just executing test cases.
• Interest in AI-assisted software testing and modern QA tooling.
