Job summary

Nextiva in Bengaluru is seeking a motivated QA Engineer I to support test design, execution, and documentation for web, mobile, and API platforms. The role emphasizes automation and learning AI-enhanced testing practices under senior guidance.

The candidate should have a bachelor’s degree in CS or related field, 1–2 years of QA experience, exposure to Selenium/Cypress/Playwright, and familiarity with CI/CD concepts.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience in CS/engineering.
  • 1-2 years of QA engineering experience; internships or projects welcomed.
  • Basic exposure to automated testing frameworks (Selenium, Cypress, or similar).
  • Familiarity with API testing tools like Postman or REST Assured is a plus.
  • Basic understanding of CI/CD concepts (GitHub Actions, Jenkins).
  • Introductory scripting knowledge in Python, JavaScript, or Java.
  • Willingness to learn cloud-based environments (AWS, Azure, GCP).
  • Interest in AI-powered QA tools and visual testing concepts.

Responsibilities

  • Assist in executing manual test cases and design automated tests for web, mobile, and API apps.
  • Learn and apply test automation tools (Selenium, Cypress, Playwright).
  • Support CI/CD pipeline test execution and monitor results.
  • Gain exposure to AI-enhanced testing tools for visual testing and test generation.
  • Write and run regression, smoke, and basic performance tests.
  • Collaborate with Engineers, PMs, and DevOps to understand product functionality.
  • Document test results and log clear bug reports.

Location: This is an onsite role based at Nextiva's Bengaluruoffice (Wilshire III by MFAR, 492,Hobli,RHB Colony, Mahadevapura, Bengaluru, Karnataka 560048). Working together onsite strengthens how weoperate, enabling faster decisions, clearer communication, and stronger execution, so you can make a greater impact and move work forward with speed and clarity.

In-Office Expectation: This role is expected to work onsite four days per week, withthepotential toincreasetofive days per week,as required by the business. Specific scheduling and flexibility will be guided by your leader to support both team collaboration and individual productivity.

We are looking for a motivated and detail-oriented QA Engineer I to join our team. This entry-level role supports the design, execution, and documentation of test cases to help ensure high-quality software delivery. The ideal candidate is eager to learn test automation and AI-enhanced testing practices while building a strong foundation in software quality assurance under the guidance of senior team members.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assist in executing manual test cases and in the design and development of automated test cases and frameworks for web, mobile, and API-based applications, under the guidance of senior QA engineers.
  • Learn and apply test automation tools such as Selenium, Cypress, or Playwright to support test coverage.
  • Support CI/CD pipeline test execution and help monitor automated test results.
  • Gain exposure to AI-enhanced testing tools (e.g., Testim, Mabl, Applitools) to support visual testing and intelligent test generation.
  • Assist in writing and running regression, smoke, and basic performance tests across supported platforms.
  • Collaborate with Software Engineers, Product Managers, and DevOps to understand product functionality and confirm test coverage.
  • Document test results, log clear and detailed bug reports, and assist with basic root cause investigation.
  • Help maintain and update existing test scripts for accuracy and reliability.
  • Participate in training and mentorship to build skills in automation frameworks and testing methodologies.
  • Stay curious about emerging AI/ML testing tools and participate in team learning sessions.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field—or equivalent practical experience.
  • 1-2 years of QA engineering experience; internships or academic projects in software testing are welcomed.
  • Basic exposure to automated testing frameworks such as Selenium, Cypress, or similar is a plus.
  • Familiarity with API testing tools like Postman or REST Assured is a plus.
  • Basic understanding of CI/CD concepts (e.g., GitHub Actions, Jenkins).
  • Introductory scripting/programming knowledge in Python, JavaScript, or Java.
  • Willingness to learn cloud-based environments (e.g., AWS, Azure, GCP).
  • Interest and experience in AI-powered QA tools and techniques such as visual testing or test generation.
  • Basic awareness of security testing and compliance concepts.
