Job summary

Invisia Software in Bengaluru, India, seeks a hands-on QA automation Lead to own the quality of a consumer travel platform. You will write real automation code, build frameworks from scratch, and guide a small QA team of 2-3 engineers while shaping test strategy and automation roadmaps.

This role is not management-focused; you remain an individual contributor with mentoring duties and collaboration with Engineering and Product in sprint cycles.

Qualifications

• 4+ years in test automation and 2+ years QA lead experience.
• Hands-on REST API and backend testing with Rest Assured.
• Experience with performance testing using JMeter or k6.
• Experience testing APIs, webhooks, and payments flows.
• Experience with mobile and web applications at scale.
• Familiarity with Agile/Scrum and AI-assisted testing.

About the Role

We're looking for a hands-on QA automation Lead who can own the quality of a consumer facing travel platform — writing real automation code, building frameworks from scratch, and owning release readiness. You'll spend the majority of your time as an individual contributor, with a secondary responsibility of mentoring and guiding the QA team of 2-3 engineers and building test strategy and test automation roadmap.

This is not a management role. If you're looking to step back from hands-on work, this isn't the right fit. If you want to do deep automation work while growing into a technical lead, it is.

What You'll Do

• Design, build, and maintain automated testing frameworks for mobile (Android & iOS) and web
• Write and own automation across API, UI, and end-to-end test layers
• Validate platform behavior across devices, OS versions, and geographies
• Own regression suites, release sign-off, and defect triage
• Work closely with Engineering and Product in sprint cycles — shift-left on quality
• Test backend services and 3rd party integrations — payment gateways, booking APIs, notification services, and data providers — validating correctness, failure handling, and retry behavior
• Design and execute performance and concurrency tests to validate system behavior under peak load — high user volumes, simultaneous bookings, and concurrent API traffic
• Identify bottlenecks in backend throughput, latency, and resource contention before they reach production
• Leverage AI tools to accelerate test authoring, improve coverage analysis, and reduce repetitive scripting effort — while maintaining human judgment on output quality
• Mentor 2-3 QA engineers - test strategy guidance, test-case review, skill development
• Define QA standards, coverage goals, and release quality criteria
• Contribute to the hiring and onboarding of QA team members

What We Require

• At least 4 years of experience in Test automation & 2+ years of QA lead experience
• Hands-on proficiency with:
  • Rest Assured — API and backend integration testing
  • JMeter or k6 — performance and concurrency testing
• Experience testing 3rd party integrations — APIs, webhooks, payment flows, or data pipelines
• Experience testing consumer mobile + web applications at scale
• Solid grasp of functional, integration, regression, performance, and end-to-end testing
• Comfortable working in Agile/Scrum environments
• AI-assisted testing — use of LLM-based tools (e.g., GitHub Copilot, Claude, or similar) for test case generation, automation script creation, and defect analysis; ability to evaluate and validate AI-generated test output for accuracy and coverage.
