Job summary

Allegis Group in India is seeking a backend engineer to design and maintain scalable services using Python and FastAPI, build REST APIs, and implement secure auth with OAuth2/JWT. You will integrate with cloud platforms (Azure/AWS/GCP), use Redis for caching, develop AI-enabled features with LLMs, LangChain, and RAG, and collaborate with cross‑functional teams in an Agile setting.

Strong experience in Python, FastAPI, cloud platforms and data stores is required, along with a passion for GenAI

Qualifications

• Proficient Python development and hands-on FastAPI experience.
• Strong knowledge of REST APIs and microservices architecture.
• Experience with PostgreSQL and database design principles.
• Redis caching and rate-limiting implementation experience.
• OAuth2/JWT/Okta/Azure AD or similar auth systems.
• Cloud platform expertise (Azure, AWS or GCP).
• Docker, Kubernetes and CI/CD pipelines experience.
• Git proficiency and Agile methodology experience.
• Experience with LLMs (OpenAI/Azure OpenAI) and GenAI toolchains.
• Understanding of RAG architectures and LangChain.
• Experience with vector stores, embeddings, and AI agents.
• Prompt engineering and retrieval optimization.

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain scalable backend applications using Python and FastAPI.
• Design, build, and optimize REST APIs and microservices.
• Implement secure authentication and authorization using OAuth2, Okta, Azure AD, or similar identity providers.
• Develop integrations with enterprise systems, cloud services, and third-party APIs.
• Design and implement caching, rate-limiting, and performance optimization mechanisms using Redis.
• Build and enhance data processing workflows including bulk uploads, validation, and data quality checks.
• Design and develop Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG) systems for enterprise knowledge retrieval.
• Build GenAI-powered applications using LLMs, LangChain, OpenAI, Azure OpenAI, and AI Agent frameworks.
• Develop AI agents capable of automating business and infrastructure operations using natural language instructions.
• Create reusable frameworks, libraries, and integration patterns to improve development efficiency.
• Troubleshoot and resolve production issues related to backend services, authentication, integrations, databases, and cloud infrastructure.
• Participate in architecture discussions, code reviews, sprint planning, deployment, and production support.
• Collaborate closely with product owners, developers, architects, and business stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities
