Job summary

Qualifacts in Vadodara, India, is seeking an accomplished backend engineer to design and implement scalable systems for a HIPAA-compliant patient portal in behavioral health. You will own features end-to-end, from architecture to deployment, and contribute to system design decisions.

You will integrate with external EHRs via async pipelines, mentor junior engineers, and sometimes deliver frontend work in React.

Qualifications

• 5+ years building production applications on Python/Django or similar stack.
• Strong systems thinker: reasons about distributed state, failure modes, and long-term design tradeoffs.
• Deep SQL and data modeling instincts — migrations, query optimization, schema desig.
• AWS proficiency — Lambda, SQS, SNS, or comparable service.
• React experience (class components a plus).
• Able to navigate ambiguous requirements, ask the right questions, and flag tradeoffs clearl.
• Proficient with AI-assisted development tooling (Claude Code, Cursor, or similar) as a daily drive.
