Job summary

Qualifacts is seeking a senior backend engineer for a Vadodara-based, permanent office role to design scalable services for a HIPAA-compliant patient portal. You will work on Python/Django backends, React frontends when needed, and AWS-based infrastructure to ensure reliability and security.

This position emphasizes end-to-end ownership of features, mentoring teammates, and collaborating on data modeling and event-driven integrations with external EHR systems.

Qualifications

• 5+ years building production apps on Python/Django or similar stacks.
• Strong systems thinker with distributed state, failure modes, and long-term design tradeoffs.
• Deep SQL and data modeling instincts—migrations, query optimization, schema design.
• AWS proficiency—Lambda, SQS, SNS, or comparable services.
• React experience (class components a plus).
• Able to navigate ambiguous requirements, ask the right questions, and flag tradeoffs clearly.
• Proficient with AI-assisted development tooling (Claude Code, Cursor, or similar) as a daily driver.

Responsibilities

• Design and implement backend systems for a HIPAA-compliant patient portal in the behavioral health space.
• Take ownership of complex features end-to-end — from architecture through deployment.
• Contribute to system design decisions and raise the technical bar across the team.

This position is based in Vadodara, India as a permanent work-from-office role. The standard shift is 11:00 AM to 8:00 PM IST.

Job Description

• Tech Stack: 5+ years of Python/Django, React (including class components), and AWS services like Lambda, SQS, and SNS.
• Systems Architecture: Expertise in distributed systems, async workflows, event-driven design, SQL data modeling, and query optimization.
• Core Competencies: Daily use of AI-assisted dev tools, navigating ambiguous requirements, and ideally healthcare compliance or EHR integrations
