What you'll be doing:

• Own engineering execution including delivery, quality, and team health for a backend-heavy product team
• Run hiring: define roles, lead interviews, make calibrated offers
• Drive performance management: clear expectations, regular feedback, and growth plans
• Partner with product and clinical stakeholders to scope work and keep commitments
• Contribute to system architecture decisions and hold the technical bar across the team
• Remove blockers, reduce friction, and keep the team moving with focus

Required Skills

• Strong hands‑on background in Python/Django, React, and AWS
• Systems thinker: can reason about distributed systems, failure modes, scalability, and long‑term design tradeoffs
• Track record managing engineers in a product company — shipping features, not just maintaining processes
• Strong communicator: written and verbal, up to leadership and across to peers
• Organized under ambiguity — can manage multiple workstreams without losing detail

Nice to Have

• Background in healthcare, compliance-heavy, or data‑sensitive domains
• Exposure to AI‑assisted development tooling and how it changes team velocity
