We are looking for a Principal Software Engineer Python with 9-12 years of software development experience, including 5-6 years of strong Python development experience. The role involves designing and developing scalable, high-performance backend applications and providing technical leadership for healthcare technology solutions.The ideal candidate should have strong expertise in Python, Python packages, RESTful APIs, SQL/NoSQL databases, performance tuning, cloud platforms, scalable application development, system design, and GitLab project delivery. The candidate will also contribute to technical strategy, mentor engineers, conduct code reviews, and drive engineering best practices.

Job Description

Key Responsibilities

• Define technology roadmaps, technical approaches, and solutions for assigned applications/products.
• Design and implement efficient server-side applications using Python, Django, Flask, or FastAPI.
• Build POCs and prototypes for new healthcare use cases and technical solutions.
• Collaborate with Architects, Product Owners, Business teams, and external teams on technical strategies and requirements.
• Conduct peer code reviews, establish coding/design standards, and mentor junior engineers.
• Automate code quality checks and promote engineering best practices.
• Identify and resolve application, cloud, and database performance issues.
• Design and develop scalable, reliable, and high-performance applications.
• Deploy solutions across test and production environments and support production releases.
• Drive continuous improvement in development processes, tools, quality, and efficiency.
• Identify technical risks and recommend appropriate mitigation strategies.
• Own technical delivery and ensure projects are delivered on schedule with quality.
• Prepare and maintain technical and solution documentation.

Profile Description

Principal Software Engineer - Python with 9-12 years of software development experience and strong hands-on expertise in Python backend development, scalable applications, REST APIs, databases, cloud platforms, and performance optimization.The candidate must demonstrate GitLab project delivery, strong Python package expertise, Performance Tuning, and practical application of Data Structures & Algorithms. Strong experience with Django/Flask/FastAPI, PostgreSQL/MySQL/NoSQL, SQLAlchemy, Redis, asyncio, Celery, Dask, NumPy, SciPy, PyArrow, and cloud platforms such as GCP/AWS/Azure is preferred.The role is suited for a technically strong Principal/Lead Python Engineer who can own architecture and technical solutions, troubleshoot complex performance issues, conduct code reviews, mentor engineers, build POCs, and collaborate with architects and business stakeholders to deliver scalable, secure, high-quality healthcare applications.
