Recycle Plastics in Delhi seeks a seasoned Purchasing Manager to steer end-to-end procurement of plastic waste, scrap, and operational consumables. This is a full-time, on-site role requiring hands-on sourcing in local markets and direct engagement with scrap dealers and recyclers to secure steady feedstocks.

You will evaluate material quality, negotiate terms, and ensure GST compliance while coordinating with factory operations and finance to optimize inventory and cash flow.

Qualifications

• 8+ years in purchasing/procurement in plastic recycling/manufacturing/industrial waste management.
• Strong familiarity with Delhi NCR and North India plastic waste markets.
• Willingness to conduct regular field visits, scrap yard inspections and market surveys.

Responsibilities

• Active Market Scouting: visit local scrap markets and hubs to identify and onboard new suppliers and traders.
• Vendor Negotiation & Contracting: negotiate prices, payment terms, and delivery schedules with suppliers and aggregators.
• Material Quality Assessment: inspect scrap for purity, moisture, and grade before dispatch.
• Supply Chain Continuity: maintain a steady pipeline of plastic scrap to meet monthly extrusion targets.
• Inventory & Cost Tracking: coordinate with operations and finance to align deliveries with inventory and working capital.
• Documentation & Compliance: ensure GST compliance, weighbridge protocols, transport docs, and environmental/EPR rules.

Role Overview

The Purchasing Manager is a full-time, on-site role based in Delhi, India, responsible for driving end-to-end procurement of plastic waste, scrap, and operational consumables.

This is not purely a desk-bound role. Sustainable raw material sourcing in the plastics sector requires direct, boots-on-the-ground engagement. You will spend time actively navigating local and regional scrap markets, building direct touchpoints with scrap dealers, aggregators, and material recovery facilities to secure consistent, high-volume raw material feedstocks at competitive rates.

Key Responsibilities

• Active Market Scouting: Regularly visit local scrap markets, industrial clusters, and waste collection hubs to identify, evaluate, and onboard new waste suppliers, aggregators, and scrap traders.
• Vendor Negotiation & Contracting: Negotiate competitive purchase prices, payment terms, and delivery schedules across both structured corporate suppliers and unorganized waste aggregators.
• Material Quality Assessment: Inspect and evaluate plastic waste lots at supplier locations or scrap yards to ensure material purity, moisture levels, and grade integrity prior to dispatch.
• Supply Chain Continuity: Maintain an uninterrupted supply pipeline of plastic scrap to meet monthly extrusion and production targets.
• Inventory & Cost Tracking: Coordinate with factory operations and finance teams to align raw material deliveries with inventory carrying capacity and working capital limits.
• Documentation & Compliance: Ensure all procurement adheres to GST compliance, weighbridge protocols, transport documentation, and environmental/EPR regulations.

Qualifications & Requirements

• Industry Experience: 8+ years of purchasing/procurement experience, specifically within plastic recycling, plastic manufacturing, or industrial waste management.
• Ground-Level Market Acumen: Extensive, proven familiarity with regional plastic waste markets, aggregator networks, and scrap trading practices across Delhi NCR and North India.
• Field Readiness: High willingness and mobility to conduct regular on-ground field visits, scrap yard inspections, and market surveys as operational needs demand.
• Street-Smart Negotiation: Exceptional bargaining and relationship-building skills, with equal comfort negotiating in unorganized scrap mandis and corporate procurement offices.
• Technical Knowledge: Working understanding of major polymer categories (e.g., HDPE, LDPE/LLDPE, PP), contamination tolerances, and yield implications during recycling.
• Operational Literacy: Proficiency with MS Excel and standard ERP/inventory management tools for tracking rate histories, supplier ledgers, and order pipelines.
• Education: Bachelor's degree in Business, Supply Chain, Commerce, or related discipline (hands-on scrap procurement experience takes precedence).
