Job summary

JobItUs in Mumbai seeks a dynamic packaging materials procurement specialist with a background in FMCG or pharma to ensure timely sourcing of sleeves, blisters, labels and related components, while maintaining quality and cost targets.

You will manage end-to-end artwork in the portal, allocate vendors to requisitions, coordinate with production, planning and QA to secure uninterrupted material availability, negotiate terms, monitor inventory, and drive cost-savings with compliant supplier

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree required.
• 4 to 5 years of experience in packaging material procurement or purchasing.
• Experience in packaging/packaging technology in manufacturing FMCG/pharma preferred.

Responsibilities

• Source and procure packaging materials (sleeves, blisters, labels, inner covers, films, etc.).
• Manage end-to-end artwork activities in the portal, from AW release to execution.
• Allocate vendors to purchase requisitions and monitor order execution.
• Coordinate with production, planning and quality assurance teams to ensure continuous material availability.
• Negotiate prices, payment terms and contract terms with suppliers and finalise price lists per procurement policies.
• Monitor inventory levels and plan procurement to prevent stock shortages or excess inventory.
• Follow up with suppliers to ensure timely deliveries and resolve supply-related issues.
• Ensure packaging materials comply with quality standards and regulatory requirements.
• Support cost-reduction initiatives through value engineering and alternate sourcing.
• Track supplier performance and prepare procurement reports and MIS.

Profile Summary

We are seeking a dynamic and experienced professional with a strong background in the FMCG or pharmaceutical industries. The ideal candidate will possess a thorough understanding of packaging material procurement and Artwork. The role is responsible for ensuring the timely procurement of packaging materials in the required quality and quantity, at a competitive cost, to support uninterrupted production operations while maintaining compliance with company policies and procurement procedures.

Key Responsibilities

• Source and procure packaging materials such as sleeves, blisters, labels, inner covers, films, shrink wraps, tapes, and other packaging components.
• Manage end-to-end artwork activities in the portal, from AW release to execution.
• Allocate suitable vendors to purchase requisitions and monitor order execution.
• Coordinate with production, planning, and quality assurance teams to ensure continuous material availability.
• Identify, evaluate, and develop new suppliers to improve quality, cost, and supply reliability.
• Negotiate prices, payment terms, delivery schedules, and contract terms with suppliers, and finalise and release approved price lists in accordance with company procurement policies.
• Monitor inventory levels and plan procurement to prevent stock shortages or excess inventory.
• Follow up with suppliers to ensure timely deliveries and resolve supply-related issues.
• Ensure that packaging materials comply with quality standards, specifications, and regulatory requirements.
• Support cost-reduction initiatives through value engineering and alternate sourcing.
• Track supplier performance and prepare procurement reports and MIS.
