Job summary

Remsons is seeking a Purchase Head to lead the procurement function. You will develop SOPs, identify and audit suppliers, and negotiate terms to ensure a reliable supply chain for production. You will manage vendor performance, control costs, and support new product introductions with robust costing for transition to serial production.

The role requires 15–20 years of experience, a relevant degree, and strong leadership to drive procurement excellence and compliance across the organization.

Responsibilities

• Responsible for developing and implementing SOPs for all aspects of the company's purchase functions covering areas of supplier identification, on-boarding and regular procurement to support business.
• Identify potential suppliers and conduct audits as per SOP defined to understand supplier capability as per Remsons supplier standards, negotiate rate contracts and onboard them to ensure a stable supply chain.
• Responsible for managing purchasing activities to ensure timely acquisition of materials and services required for production by working closely with plant teams and managing forecasts.
• Regularly revisit the market trends and drive price settlements with suppliers to manage profitability of business in scenarios of increase/ decrease in inputs costs like material/ labour, supply chain crisis etc.
• Monitor inventory levels and implement inventory control measures to avoid stock-outs and excess inventory and supporting business to have a healthy financial performance.
• Evaluate supplier performance and conduct regular supplier audits to maintain quality standards. Collaborate with vendors to resolve issues, negotiate terms, and ensure on-time delivery of goods and services.
• Support NPD projects in timely manner and providing Zero Based costing for components and further regularising it from NPD to serial production stage.
• Identify and mitigate procurement risks, such as supply chain disruptions or supplier non-compliance through localisation projects and ensuring de risking of critical component
• Generate reports on purchasing activities, cost savings, competitors supplier practices and performance metrics for management review.
• Implement best practices and continuous improvement initiatives to streamline procurement processes and enhance efficiency.
• Successfully maintaining all documents and timely data completion required for IATF/ VDA/ ISO and as desired by any customer driven quality standards
• Regularly mentoring the team, issuing quarterly KRA's for them, giving regular feedback s for improvements, executing PIPs (if required) to ensure maximum productivity of the team at all times in lines with organisation goals.
