Job summary

Hitachi Energy is seeking a procurement specialist to oversee end-to-end procurement, build strong supplier relationships, and ensure compliant, timely delivery of materials in a GIS manufacturing context. The role requires 3–5 years of relevant experience and proficiency in SAP MM and MS Office.

The incumbent will coordinate with internal teams, manage import/export activities, uphold quality standards, and ensure accurate billing while adhering to safety and integrity values.

Qualifications

• Must have a Bachelor's degree in mechanical or electrical engineering.
• 3-5 years of procurement experience in GIS manufacturing or related industry.
• Knowledge of import/export, material handling.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Proficient in SAP MM and MS Office; strong follow-up skills.
• Proficiency in English (written and spoken).

Responsibilities

• Oversee all procurement activities aligned with rules, regulations and policies.
• Develop purchasing strategies and maintain supplier relationships; coordinate with internal teams for supply needs; oversee end-to-end procurement.
• Develop and maintain strong relationships with suppliers, logistics partners, and internal stakeholders to ensure smooth operation of the supply chain.
• Assess and mitigate risks within the supply chain and implement contingency plans.
• Handle import and domestic procurement; material planning and tracking based on production plans.
• Purchase and logistics management of various commodities.
• Conduct project reviews to establish delivery schedules and timelines.
• Conduct daily progress reviews of works and delivery status of materials.
• Collaborate with quality control teams to ensure incoming materials meet quality standards.
• Oversee billing for all procured items and ensure timely payments.
• Communicate procurement needs to internal departments.
• Ensure compliance with external and internal regulations, procedures, and guidelines.

• Developing purchasing strategies, maintaining positive relationships with suppliers, coordinating with internal teams regarding their supply needs, and overseeing the procurement process from order placement to delivery.
• Develop and maintain strong relationships with suppliers, logistics partners, and internal stakeholders to ensure smooth operation of the supply chain.
• Assess and mitigate risks within the supply chain, including identifying potential disruptions and implementing contingency plans.
• Handling import & domestic procurement. Material Planning & tracking based on continuous production plan.
• Purchase and logistics management of various commodities.
• Conduct a thorough project review to establish delivery schedules / project timelines.
• Conduct daily progress reviews of works and delivery status of materials.
• Collaborate with quality control teams to ensure that incoming materials meet quality standards.

Your background

• A bachelors degree in mechanical/electrical engineering.
• Candidate must have 3-5 years of experience in Procurement in relevant industry preferably from GIS manufacturing company.
• Knowledge of import and export Material Handling.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Sound interpersonal skills.
• Working knowledge of SAP MM. Well versed with MS Office. Strong Follow up and Expedite Materials skills.
• Basic knowledge of engineering drawing.
• Proficiency in both spoken & written English language is required
