Job summary

Hyt Engineering Company in Bengaluru is seeking an experienced Purchase Engineer to manage procurement for mechanical production. You will source raw materials and components, develop vendors, and negotiate terms to ensure uninterrupted production.

The role requires strong vendor management, cost-saving initiatives, and coordination with production, planning, and quality teams. Office is six days a week, with day timings from 9:30 AM to 6:30 PM.

Qualifications

• Experience in procurement for mechanical production, including supplier development and vendor management.
• Strong ability in price negotiation, cost reduction, and sourcing of mechanical raw materials and engineering components.

Responsibilities

• Manage procurement of mechanical raw materials, engineering components, fasteners, bearings, tools, consumables, and bought-out parts.
• Source MS, SS, aluminium, castings, forgings, machined components, and fabrication items per production needs.
• Develop new vendors and maintain relationships with existing suppliers.
• Obtain quotations, prepare comparative statements, negotiate prices, and finalize commercial terms.
• Prepare and release purchase orders based on approved requisitions, BOMs, drawings, and specifications.
• Coordinate with production, planning, stores, quality, and design departments for material requirements.
• Follow up with suppliers to ensure timely delivery and prevent production delays.
• Identify cost-saving opportunities through negotiations, alternate sourcing, and supplier development.
• Manage subcontracting and job-work procurement, including machining, fabrication, welding, and surface treatment.
• Resolve supplier-related issues concerning quality rejections, shortages, and delays.
• Monitor inventory levels, lead times, and critical material requirements.
• Maintain purchase records, supplier databases, quotations, purchase orders, and procurement reports.
• Coordinate with accounts for invoice verification and material receipt discrepancies.
