  • ITI/Diploma in Mechanical Engineering or related technical field required.
  • Hands-on mechanical assembly experience preferred.
  • 1–3 years in mechanical assembly, fabrication, machine assembly, installation or similar role.

Responsibilities

  • Assist in the assembly and installation of prototype equipment and test instruments.
  • Assemble mechanical components including plates, brackets, mounts, fasteners, and related hardware.
  • Perform basic mechanical fitting, alignment, adjustment, and installation activities.
  • Read and understand basic mechanical drawings, assembly drawings, dimensions and instructions.
  • Use basic hand tools and workshop tools safely and effectively.
  • Assist engineers during prototype development, assembly, modification and testing.
  • Perform basic measurements and dimensional checks during assembly.
  • Identify loose fittings, alignment issues, mechanical defects, and other assembly problems.
  • Assist with disassembly, modification and reassembly of prototypes when required.
  • Maintain tools, components and assembly materials in an organized manner.
  • Support installation and setup at company or customer locations when required.
  • Maintain basic assembly records and documentation.
  • Follow engineering instructions, safety procedures and quality requirements.
  • Carry out other technical and mechanical support activities related to prototype development.

Job description

We are looking for a hands‑on and technically oriented Prototype Assembly & Mechanical Technician to support the development, assembly, installation, and testing of prototype equipment and optical test instruments.

The role will involve working with mechanical components such as plates, brackets, nuts, bolts, fasteners, mounts, fixtures, and other hardware used in prototype assemblies.

The candidate will work closely with the engineering and development team to assemble prototypes, perform basic mechanical adjustments, assist with installations, and ensure that assemblies are completed accurately according to drawings and instructions.

Requirements
  • ITI / Diploma in Mechanical Engineering, Fitter, Machinist, or a related technical field is preferred.
  • Candidates with relevant hands‑on mechanical assembly experience may also be considered.
  • 1–3 years of experience in mechanical assembly, fabrication, machine assembly, installation, maintenance, or a similar role.
  • Basic understanding of mechanical components, fasteners, fittings, and assembly techniques.
  • Ability to use basic hand tools and measuring instruments.
  • Ability to understand basic mechanical drawings and dimensions.
  • Good attention to detail and ability to follow technical instructions.
  • Willingness to work hands‑on with prototype equipment and components.
  • Ability to work as part of an engineering and prototype development team.
Preferred Skills
  • Experience with mechanical assembly or prototype development.
  • Basic knowledge of drilling, tapping, fitting, fastening, and alignment.
  • Familiarity with tools such as vernier calipers, screwdrivers, spanners, Allen keys, drills, and other workshop tools.
  • Basic knowledge of CAD drawings or mechanical drawings is an advantage.
  • Experience working with precision instruments or optical/mechanical equipment is an advantage.
