Job summary

NewSpace Research & Technologies is seeking a propulsion test engineer in Bengaluru to support advanced aerospace testing. Primary Roles & Responsibilities
  • Prepare test plans and procedures for propulsion testing.
  • Verify rig readiness and ensure all required equipment and systems are operational.
  • Configure ESC, Pixhawk, telemetry, and other test equipment.
  • Execute propulsion test runs and monitor key parameters throughout testing.
  • Capture observations, record test results, and ensure test data is properly saved.
Safety
  • Perform all required safety checks before and during testing.
  • Ensure compliance with defined safety procedures and protocols.
  • Monitor designated safe zones and maintain a safe testing environment.
Data Acquisition & Analysis
  • Configure data logging and data acquisition systems.
  • Calibrate sensors and verify sensor functionality before testing.
  • Ensure accuracy, consistency, and quality of collected test data.
  • Generate graphs, logs, and analysis-ready data for test evaluation.
Mechanical & Electrical Setup
  • Set up motors, propellers, mounts, and related components as per design guidelines and specified torque requirements.
  • Inspect assemblies for vibration, loosened components, and other mechanical issues.
  • Assist with the assembly and disassembly of propulsion test setups.
  • Connect and configure wiring, ESCs, SMPS, batteries, and associated electrical systems.
  • Verify proper grounding, electrical protection, and system connections.
  • Troubleshoot electrical, telemetry, and connectivity-related issues during testing.
Documentation & Reporting
  • Maintain accurate test reports, checklists, and test records.
  • Update SOPs, certifications, and relevant technical documentation.
  • Compile test results and prepare final test summaries.
  • Ensure all test documentation and data are organized and readily accessible for future reference.
