Job summary

NewSpace Research and Technologies, based in Bengaluru, seeks a skilled technician to support airframe assembly and installation of UAV subsystems. The candidate will integrate propulsion and avionic systems and assist with pre and post-flight operations.

The ideal candidate will possess strong skills in both electronic and mechanical domains, as well as the ability to troubleshoot and provide solutions during integration and testing phases.

Qualifications

• Fully skilled in airframe fabrication, integration, and repair.
• Good knowledge on handheld tools and Power tools.
• Good knowledge in computer applications.
• Good knowledge on electrical / Electronics domain including soldering and troubleshooting.
• Good knowledge about propulsion system principles.
• Skilled in avionic system and propulsion testing.
• Skilled in Airframe testing.
• Knowledge about adhesives and their functional use.
• Knowledge on manufacturing drawing reading.
• Knowledge about composites handling and manufacturing techniques.

Responsibilities

• Independently perform airframe assembly and hardware integration.
• Integrate avionics, propulsion system, and testing.
• Handle ground support activities during on-site work.
• Identify potential issues and provide solutions.
• Participate in flight tests and instrument installations.
• Guide and train colleagues in relevant fields.

Job description

We are a start-up based out of Bengaluru & Delhi NCR. We are engaged in development of next generation missions and technologies (NGM&T) towards future warfare needs of the Indian defence forces. It is undertaking research towards enhancing persistence and autonomy for unmanned vehicles and robotic swarms. NRT’s product development portfolio includes a solar power stratospheric high altitude pseudo satellite (HAPS) unmanned platform and an air/ground launched stand-off autonomous system.

Job Description: Independently support and perform airframe assembly while aiding in complete installation of subsystems that include UAV specific hardware, avionic system and propulsion systems. Candidates should be able to work in both electronics and mechanical domain activities. Candidates will also be responsible for supporting pre and post flight operation related activities pertaining to repair and maintenance.

Responsibilities and Duties

• Independently Perform airframe assembly, hardware integration
• Independently Perform avionic, propulsion system integration, and testing
• Hold key responsibility in handling ground support activities during on-site work
• Identify potential issues expected in both domains (electronic & mechanical) and provide necessary solutions
• Independently Perform in composite manufacturing
• Participate and coordinate in flight tests and instrument installations necessary for data acquisition
• Guide and train fellow colleagues in the related field for work efficiency
• Interaction with vendor for fabrication, other related work

Required Skills/Abilities
