Job summary

Fuller Technologies in Chennai, India, seeks a Proposal Manager for Pyro & Grinding to lead technical proposals for global cement customers. You will collaborate with internal teams to craft fast, competitive documents and ensure profitable growth across projects.

Ideal candidates have a mechanical engineering background with 5+ years in proposal prep or contract engineering in cement, and hands-on experience with ATLAS, AutoCAD and 3D CAD tools. Fluency in English is essential.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering.
• At least 5 years in proposal preparation or contract project engineering in the cement industry.
• Ability to independently manage multiple priorities and deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
• Knowledge of ATLAS, MS Office, AutoCAD & SolidWorks and other 3D tools.
• Fluent in English with strong verbal and written communication.

Responsibilities

• Participate in proposal efforts of Pyro & Grinding solutions with optimal technical outcomes.
• Prepare technical proposals for new cement plants and upgrades including planning of activities and documentation.
• Understand tender requirements and process diagrams and collect inputs to design the final system solution.
• Timely completion of assigned jobs with the required quality.
• Supervise drafting work related to proposals and requirements.
• Create optimized layouts/GA/flow diagrams for cost-effective solutions.
• Prepare technical specifications for auxiliary equipment and vendor evaluation.
• Maintain back-up documents and ISO-compliant documentation for proposals.
• Attend customer meetings for clarifications, including travel and site visits.

About The Role

Are you a dynamic mechanical engineer with an exceptional technical mindset and a passion for driving sustainable industrial solutions? As a Proposal Manager, you will be involved in proposal preparation efforts of Pyro & Grinding products and product packages for global customers. You'll collaborate with internal teams to deliver fast, competitive technical proposals that drive profitable growth.

About The Department

You will be part of the Proposal and Process Design department. As a part of Pyro & Grinding Business Line, we provide sustainable technologies for both new and existing cement installations. Our aim is to help our customers achieve their business objectives, extend the lifespan of their current assets, transition to alternative fuels, and enhance the performance and efficiency of their operations. We are committed to delivering true value to our customers' assets while aligning with the industry's sustainability goals. You will be part of global team while affiliated to one of our offices, either Allentown (PA, USA), Valby (Denmark) or Chennai (India).

Your Responsibilities

• Participate in proposal efforts of Pyro & Grinding solutions with optimal technical outcomes
• Prepare technical Proposals for new cement plants and upgrades which includes planning of Proposal activities, creating optimum concepts for customer requirements, generating technical documents, and other supporting proposal documentation
• Understand Tender requirements and Process diagrams and collect inputs from various departments to be able to design the final system solution
• Timely completion of the assigned job with the required quality
• Supervise drafting work related to specific Proposals and requirements
• Make various options and optimization in the Layout/GA/Flow diagrams to make cost-effective and feasible solutions in the Proposals
• Support preparation of technical specification for auxiliary equipment and evaluation of vendor offers
• Prepare various documents like Machinery List in ATLAS, Tender deviations, Weight schedule, Engineering schedule, Exclusion List, etc
• Maintain proper back up documents, complete and file documentation for the Proposals as per ISO requirements and internal work procedures
• Attend customer meetings for technical clarifications in Proposals, including travelling as needed and site visits

What You Bring

• Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering
• A minimum of 5 years of experience in Proposal Preparation or Contract Project Engineering in the cement industry
• Ability to independently manage multiple priorities and deadlines in a fast-paced environment
• Knowledge of ATLAS, MS Office, AutoCAD & SolidWorks and other 3D tools
• A positive mindset that motivates those around you, no matter if they sit next to you or on the other side of the world.
• Good efficient verbal and written communication skills, fluent in English.
• Good knowledge of FLSmidth Products, and a fair knowledge on the cement process.
• Knowledge of cement plant design and layout engineering
• Conceptual thinking, visualization and problem-solving ability
• Quality focus and time management
• Basic knowledge on other disciplines (Electrical, Civil, etc.).
