Job summary

SIGNODE INDIA LIMITED in Rudraram, Hyderabad, seeks a Proposal Engineer to develop applications and solutions for end-of-line packaging automation.

You will review RFQs, design layouts in AutoCAD, coordinate with teams, and deliver costed proposals within tight deadlines.

Qualifications

• B.E./B.Tech or Diploma in Mechanical/Mechatronics is required.
• 4 to 5 years’ experience in similar role/industry.
• Experience in End-of-Line Packaging Automation and material handling systems.
• Proficient in AutoCAD for system concepts and proposal layouts.

Responsibilities

• Review customer RFQs, specifications, layouts, and tender documents to understand project requirements.
• Conduct customer discussions and site surveys to gather technical inputs and validate application requirements.
• Analyse material flow, throughput, and operational requirements to develop optimized automation solutions.
• Develop proposal layouts for End-of-Line Packaging Automation using AutoCAD.
• Prepare techno-commercial proposals and cost estimates.
• Act as technical interface between customers, sales, engineering and project execution teams.
• Support sales during technical evaluations and bid reviews.
• Ensure handover of awarded projects with complete technical and commercial information.

Position Summary:

Proposal Engineer (Applications & Solutions development).

Qualification:

B. E / B. Tech (or) Diploma in Mechanical / Mechatronics

Experience:

4 to 5 years’ experience in similar role / industry

Key Responsibilities.

Review customer RFQs, specifications, layouts, and tender documents to understand project requirements.

Conduct customer discussions and site surveys to gather technical inputs and validate application requirements.

Analyse material flow, throughput, and operational requirements to develop optimized automation solutions.

Develop system concepts and proposal layouts for End-of-Line Packaging Automation applications using AutoCAD.

Select and size conveyors, shuttles, sortation systems, palletizers, robotic systems, stretch wrappers, and strapping equipment.

Ensure proposed solutions meet customer requirements, operational objectives, safety standards, and technical specifications.

Coordinate with internal teams, suppliers, and technology partners to develop cost-effective technical solutions.

Prepare detailed cost estimates, pricing calculations, and techno-commercial proposals.

Develop proposal documentation including scope, assumptions, exclusions, compliance statements, and technical specifications.

Present proposed solutions and provide technical clarifications during customer meetings and bid reviews.

Support sales teams during technical evaluations, negotiations, and proposal submissions.

Act as the technical interface between customers, sales, engineering and project execution teams.

Ensure effective handover of awarded projects by transferring all technical and commercial project information.

Monitor industry trends, emerging technologies, and competitive offerings in packaging automation and material handling systems.

Key Skills.

Strong understanding of End-of-Line Packaging Automation and Material Handling Systems.

Experience in application engineering, solution development, and techno-commercial proposal preparation.

Hands-on experience with conveyors, palletizers, robotic applications, sortation systems, Packing systems and related end of Line automation equipment.

Proficient in AutoCAD for concept and proposal layout development.

Lead and ability to work independently while coordinating with cross-functional teams and Stakeholders.

Cost estimations & Techno-commercial proposal preparation

Strong communication and presentation skills

Strong Analytical and problem-solving mindset.

Ability to work under aggressive proposal timelines

Team-oriented approach with cross-functional collaboration capabilities

Added Advantage

Knowledge and Experience in Autodesk Inventor, SolidWorks, Creo and any other 3D Design Tools.

Exposure to robotic automation systems

Knowledge of warehouse and intralogistics automation solutions
