Job summary

Veolia Bengaluru seeks a chemical/environmental engineer with 5–10 years of water and wastewater experience to lead proposal engineering, process design, and cost optimization for complex water treatment projects.

You will review specifications, develop process descriptions, PFDs, PIDL/ layouts, and interface with customers and regional leaders. Strong knowledge of UF/RO, ZLD, and design codes is essential. ACAD/Office skills are required.

Qualifications

• Chemical engineering graduate or chemical/environmental engineer master's degree.
• Minimum 5–10 years of experience in water & waste water treatment industry.

Responsibilities

• Lead Proposal engineer to plan and formulate proposal engineering deliverables in water industry processes and products; knowledge of wastewater treatment, membrane bioreactor technology, and thermal ZLD systems is a plus.
• Understand water chemistry, identify red flags, select unit operations, and design conventional and advanced pretreatment like ultrafiltration; design RO systems for water and wastewater applications; design biological systems; understand thermal evaporator systems.
• Review tender electromechanical specifications, engineering design standards, proposal playbook, safety and customer contract requirements; determine right process and product selection; develop process descriptions, calculations, PFD, HFD, PID, layouts, load lists, instrument lists, and civil inputs.
• Familiar with design tools like UF/RO/ion exchange projections and related tools.
• Develop Capex, Opex, O&M, and ROI calculations to optimize processes and costs.
• Conduct global design reviews and participate in Hazop/SIL reviews; interface with customer representatives and regional/ global project leadership for reviews.
• Knowledge of design codes and standards — ASME, DIN, EN, IS, BS, AS; materials/metallurgy for pumps, valves, equipment, pipes, fittings.
• Knowledge of electrical, instrumentation and control systems applicable to water and wastewater schemes and products.
• Working knowledge of ACAD / Office tools; assist local/global proposal engineers and sales teams for bid deliverables.
• Mentor other engineers.

Job Summary:

A Chemical engineering graduate or Chemical / environmental engineer Masters degree holder with minimum 5-10 years of experience in water & waste water treatment industry. The role requires the person to be able to have deep knowledge of water chemistry and experience of designing, costing , proposal development of various water and waste water treatment processes including thermal systems (Zero Liquid discharge systems).

Essential Responsibilities / Expectations:

• 1.Perform as the lead Proposal engineer to plan and formulate proposal Engineering.Deliverables in water Industry Processes and Products. Knowledge on waste watertreatment , membrane bio reactor technology, thermal ZLD systems will be of added advantage.
• 2. Able to understand water chemistry , identify red flags, to be able to select unit operations and design conventional as well advanced pretreatment like ultrafiltration, Design RO system for various water and waste water applications, design biological system , understanding of thermal evaporator system .
• 3. • 4. Sound working knowledge on Design tools like UF/RO/Ion Exchange Projections and other tools.
• 5. Able to develop Capex, Opex, O&M, ROI calculations to optimize the Process and cost
• 6. Able to conduct global design reviews / participate and lead Hazop /SIL.Reviews. Able to interface with customer’s technical representatives and/or the Suez in country local Lead Project Engineer or Proposal Manager reviews
• 7. Knowledge on Design tools, International codes and standards - ASME, DIN, EN,IS, BS, AS etc.,
• 8. Knowledge on Materials / Metallurgy on metallic and nonmetallic Pumps, valves,Equipments, pipes and fittings
• 9. knowledge on Electrical, Instrumentation and control systems applicable for water and waste water Schemes and Products.
• 10. Working knowledge on ACAD / Office tools
• 11. Assist local / global Proposal Engineers / Sales team for the Bid Engineering deliverables.
• 12. Mentor other Engineers
