Role Summary
The Project Controls Manager is responsible for establishing, implementing, and managing all project control functions - including planning, scheduling, cost control, risk management, progress measurement, and reporting - across AMC’s offshore and onshore projects. The role ensures that project performance is accurately monitored, controlled, and reported to management and clients. The Project Controls Manager provides strategic leadership to planners, cost engineers, and document controllers, ensuring that all project control activities are aligned with AMC’s Project Management and Quality Systems.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and implement the Project Controls framework, policies, and procedures for AMC projects.
- Manage project planning, scheduling, cost control, and progress measurement systems to ensure accurate reporting and forecasting.
- Lead the preparation and maintenance of integrated project schedules (engineering, procurement, construction, marine, and commissioning).
- Establish and manage project budgets, cost baselines, and cash flow forecasts.
- Monitor project performance and provide variance analysis (cost, schedule, and productivity).
- Lead the preparation of monthly project reports for internal management and client submission.
- Coordinate with Project Managers to identify risks, deviations, and recovery strategies.
- Manage project change control processes and maintain updated forecasts reflecting approved variations.
- Implement earned value management (EVM) and performance measurement techniques.
- Ensure alignment of cost, schedule, and resource data across all reporting systems.
- Manage document control processes, ensuring timely and accurate documentation flow.
- Supervise and mentor project controls personnel, including planners, cost engineers, and document controllers.
- Participate in project reviews, audits, and lessons‑learned sessions.
- Provide input during tendering and estimation phases for cost, schedule, and risk assessment.
- Interface with Finance, Procurement, Engineering, and Operations for consistent project reporting and control.
Education & Qualifications
Essential:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering, Project Management, or a related discipline.
- Minimum 12–15 years of experience in project controls within offshore, oil & gas, or EPC contracting.
- Strong knowledge of Primavera P6, MS Project, and project control systems.
- Experience in cost engineering, budgeting, and forecasting.
Desirable:
- Project Management Professional (PMP) or equivalent certification.
- Training in Earned Value Management (EVM) and Risk Management.
- Familiarity with ISO 9001 Quality Systems and Integrated Management Systems.

Responsibilities
- Lead and coordinate the project controls function for all active AMC projects.
- Establish and maintain integrated schedules, budgets, and forecasts.
- Monitor and report project progress, cost trends, and key performance indicators (KPIs).
- Support project risk assessments and assist in developing mitigation plans.
- Ensure consistency of reporting formats and data accuracy across projects.
- Manage interfaces between planning, cost, and document control functions.
- Review and validate subcontractor schedules and cost reports.
- Support management in decision‑making through accurate forecasting and scenario analysis.
- Contribute to organizational learning by capturing project performance data and lessons learned.
- Ensure compliance with AMC’s Quality, HSE, and document control procedures.
