Job summary

Saipem in Chennai seeks a Planning Engineer / Senior Planning Engineer to develop and maintain project schedules using Primavera P6, including milestones and critical interfaces. You will define WBS, establish logic and critical paths across engineering, procurement, construction and commissioning.

The role requires 5-18 years EPC planning experience, strong Primavera P6 skills, and advanced MS Office proficiency. Overseas Oil & Gas project exposure and Power BI ability are advantageous.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Engineering is required.
• 5-18 years of EPC project planning experience.
• Strong Primavera P6 expertise is required.
• Knowledge of engineering, procurement, and construction sequence & workflows.
• Advanced user of Microsoft Office.
• Overseas experience in Oil & Gas projects is an added advantage.
• Proficiency in Power BI is an added advantage.

Responsibilities

• Develop baseline and re-baseline schedules using Primavera P6 including milestones, contractual requirements and critical interfaces.
• Define project work breakdown structure (WBS) and activity coding structure.
• Establish logic, sequencing, and critical path for all phases (Engineering, Procurement, Construction & Commissioning).
• Establish progress measurement system for all project phases.
• Track project progress against baseline and perform periodic schedule updates.
• Perform critical path and float analysis to identify delays and support recovery plans & mitigation strategies.
• Perform Time Impact Analysis (TIA) for Change orders.
• Support preparation of Extension of Time (EOT) Claims.
• Prepare Project Weekly and Monthly Progress Reports.
• Coordinate with project stakeholders for inputs, forecasting and reporting.
• Support Change management, Risk Management, Procurement with Schedule data & analysis.
• Lead the creation and automation of dashboards and performance reports using Excel, Power BI & similar tools.
• Support Lead Planning Engineer in preparation of Project Procedures and Management reporting.
