Duties and responsibilities
Project management of Automation & Warehouse Equipment implementation phase.
- Project planning, monitoring, control and execution.
- Responsible for project management during implementation phase with focus on material flow technology/warehouse technology/automation.
- Identify & conceive the right rack solution for customers’ requirements.
- Create, review and validate documentation for accuracy, completeness, and compliance with project requirements. Conduct regular reviews and participate in project meetings to ensure project timelines.
- Identify & implement safe methodology for project execution activities, such as racking system installation, automation project equipment installation & commissioning.
- Ensure safety at the site.
- Organize, review & ensure required EHS guidelines to follow as per customer site requirements.
- Manage multiple sites within allotted locations simultaneously.
- Understand project scope, design/drawing related to project execution.
- Build and maintain positive relationships with all stakeholders.
- Organize an external kick‑off meeting with customers, ensure smooth communication with customers and different stakeholders.
- Attend internal kick‑off meeting, understand project scope and delegate responsibilities to internal stakeholders as per project requirement.
- Bring all stakeholders onto a common understanding via effective communication.
- Resolve conflicts.
- Understand the scope of project and vendors involved in the project along with allotted budget.
- Ensure timelines to place orders to different vendors.
- Appoint and manage contractor/sub‑contractors for site installation, commissioning & safety officers.
- Ensure budget and timelines are followed during contractor selection.
- Ensure delivery timelines for racking, automation subsystems and accessories of projects.
- Coordinate with cross functions such as supply chain, commercial, procurement, pre‑sales team to meet budget and timelines of suppliers.
- Float RFQs, finalize scope and negotiate with contractors/sub‑contractors while appointing for project.
Resource & Budget management.
- Optimize the use of resources (personnel, equipment, materials) to ensure efficient project execution.
- Monitor project costs, manage expenses, and ensure the project stays within the approved budget.
Project Closure.
- Finalize project documentation, conduct post‑project reviews, and ensure a smooth handover of the completed racking system.
- Make a snag list, close site activities and obtain completion certificate from the customer.
- Commission and hand over sites – availability test, throughput test, and coordinate with third‑party certification team.
- Evaluate man‑days, tools & resources required for the project.
- Support front‑line sales & pre‑sales team for tenders, RFQ specifications etc.
Quality assurance:
- Implement quality control measures to ensure the racking system & automation project meets required standards and specifications.
- Optimize processes, maintain ISO documentation & pursue continuous improvement.
Strategic Initiatives
- Understand the company’s goal and purpose and enhance the company’s performance.
Qualifications
- Academic degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Informatics or Industrial Engineering with a focus on material flow technology/logistics, or equivalent education.
- Experience implementing systems or subsystems containing conveyor and warehouse technology.
- Proficiency in MS Office (including MS Project) and AutoCAD software.
- Fluent in English (written and spoken) and Mandarin; additional language skills are beneficial.
- PMP certification.
- 8 to 15 years of experience, with at least 5 years as project manager or in project management in the corresponding field, ideally on a general contractor side.
- Confident working independently under pressure and tight schedules.
- Proactive, self‑motivated, good team player and leader with strong customer focus.
- Excellent communication skills and solution‑oriented thinking.
- Willingness to travel domestically and overseas on short notice.
- Proficiency in English (oral & written) and any Indian regional language.
