Canis Talent Solutions in Chennai is seeking an experienced Project Manager for interior design, fit-out and construction projects. You will lead planning, scheduling, budgeting, and coordination among architects, designers, and contractors to ensure on-time delivery.

You will manage client relationships, facilitate regular project meetings, and ensure design intent and quality. Strong communication and leadership are essential for success in this role.

Qualifications

  • Minimum 8–15 years of experience in Project Management.
  • Experience in Interior Design / Fit-out / Architecture / Construction.
  • Strong client handling and team management skills.
  • Proficiency in MS Excel / MS Project / AutoCAD.

Responsibilities

  • Define project scope, schedules, milestones, and deliverables in coordination with clients and design teams.
  • Develop project plans, timelines, and resource allocations.
  • Coordinate with architects, consultants, contractors, and stakeholders throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Act as primary point of contact for clients and conduct regular status updates.
  • Lead internal project teams including architects, designers, draftsmen, and 3D visualizers.
  • Review drawings, details, and specifications for accuracy and feasibility.
  • Monitor budgets, costs, and value engineering without compromising design.
  • Identify delays and resolve roadblocks; maintain updated schedules and progress reports.
  • Coordinate with authorities for permits and approvals; ensure compliance with building codes.

Role & responsibilities
1. Project Planning & Coordination
  • Define project scope, schedules, milestones, and deliverables in coordination with clients and design teams.
  • Develop project plans, timelines, and resource allocations.
  • Coordinate with architects, consultants, contractors, and stakeholders throughout the project lifecycle.
2. Client Communication & Relationship Management
  • Act as the primary point of contact for clients.
  • Conduct regular client meetings, presentations, and project status updates.
  • Understand client requirements and ensure they are reflected in design and execution.
3. Team Leadership & Supervision
  • Lead internal project teams including architects, designers, draftsmen, and 3D visualizers.
  • Assign responsibilities and monitor team performance.
  • Facilitate collaboration and resolve project-related issues.
4. Design Oversight & Quality Control
  • Oversee design development to ensure alignment with client requirements and project standards.
  • Review architectural drawings, details, and specifications for accuracy and feasibility.
  • Ensure design quality and consistency throughout all project stages.
5. Budget & Cost Management
  • Monitor project budgets and control costs.
  • Coordinate with finance teams for billing, cost tracking, and resource planning.
  • Manage value engineering without compromising design intent.
6. Scheduling & Deadline Management
  • Ensure project milestones and final delivery deadlines are achieved.
  • Identify and resolve delays, conflicts, and roadblocks proactively.
  • Maintain updated project schedules and progress reports.
7. Regulatory Compliance & Approvals
  • Coordinate with consultants and authorities for permits and approvals.
  • Ensure compliance with applicable building codes and statutory requirements.
  • Ensure timely submission of required documents.
8. Risk Management
  • Identify potential project risks and develop mitigation strategies.
  • Handle stakeholder disputes and project issues professionally.
9. Documentation & Reporting
  • Maintain project documentation including contracts, meeting minutes, drawings, change orders, and communication records.
  • Prepare regular project progress reports for senior management and clients.
Preferred Candidate Profile
  • Any Graduate.
  • Minimum 8 15 years of experience in Project Management.
  • Experience in Interior Design / Fit-out / Architecture / Construction.
  • Strong client handling and team management skills.
  • Experience in project planning, scheduling, budgeting and cost control.
  • Good knowledge of design coordination, quality control and site execution.
  • Strong communication, leadership and problem-solving skills.
  • Proficiency in MS Excel / MS Project / AutoCAD.
  • Ability to manage projects within time, budget and quality standards.
