What’s unique about this role?
Responsible for client communication, coordination with other Client Services team members and Project Management for intake, processing and export of client data within Nuix, Relativity platforms.
Responsibilities
- Engage with clients and law firms for questions, clarification and escalations related to their eDiscovery matters.
- Manage a team of up to 5 members of Associates/Senior Associates.
- Work closely with Technical Services, Application Support, and other teams to perform client-related tasks per their requests.
- Coach and participate in eDiscovery and data management activities, including filing requests for data intakes, processing, filtering and hosting support, while handling a team of 3-5 members.
- Consult with clients on data-related challenges and delivery, with a plan of tasks and accurate timelines.
- Follow up with internal teams based on task priority and assist others in prioritization to meet SLAs.
- Handle multiple engagements and clients simultaneously, as new matters may be added.
- Collaborate with Managers and above to build KPIs for the team and analyze data for operational efficiencies.
- Coordinate with IT and App Support for platform-related issues affecting review or document search on Relativity and other proprietary software.
- Build training plans for new hires and assist with initial setup of emails and onboarding insights.
- Communicate delays to clients with explanations and updated delivery timelines to minimize further delays.
- Administer Relativity-based hosted matters, including client support from review through production, general Relativity support, search assistance, document batch management, and user management.
- Maintain open communication with internal teams and external clients to provide visibility into project status, tracking risks, scope changes, and requirements changes.
- Re-validate billable and non-billable entries at the end of the week and month, reporting anomalies to Associate Managers.
Qualifications and Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree.
- 5-8 years of experience in eDiscovery Client Services/Project Management or litigation/practice support within a law firm.
- Experience managing a team of 2-5 members.
- Expert understanding of structured and unstructured data, metadata, storage and retrieval, databases.
- Extensive client management and project management experience in the legal industry.
- Strong leadership, cross-functional collaboration, and ability to work with diverse teams.
- Self-motivated with a strong desire to learn new skills and train junior colleagues for service excellence.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills; ability to translate technical terms for non-technical audiences.
- Ability to engage with stakeholders at varying seniority levels.
- Participation in hiring processes and providing technical feedback.
- Willingness to work flexible hours or rotational shifts to support the eDiscovery business.
- Adherence to strict data security policies and procedures.
Preferred Skills
- End-to-end understanding of eDiscovery: collections, processing, review, and production.
- Experience with Relativity, Nuix, Brainspace, Concordance, Ringtail, and Service Now (PM tool) is a plus.
- Knowledge of billable versus non-billable client tasks.
- Relativity Certified Administrator (RCA) or other eDiscovery certifications is a plus.
- Familiarity with computer forensics tools is beneficial but not required.
- Ability to understand proprietary software related to data processing, hosting and timekeeping.
- Strong organizational skills with attention to detail.
- Proficiency with Windows, Microsoft Excel, and PowerPoint.
