Opstree Global is seeking an experienced Technical Project Leader to oversee IT, DevOps, and cloud initiatives. This role focuses on governance, planning, stakeholder alignment, and cross-functional coordination, not hands-on coding.

The ideal candidate has 8–10 years in IT/DevOps project management, with strong cloud and infrastructure understanding. You will drive PMO reporting, manage budgets and vendor relations, and ensure timely delivery across complex programs.

Role Overview:

As a Technical, you will be responsible for leading the tech team and delivering complex IT and DevOps-related projects, ensuring high-quality execution, timely delivery, and alignment with business objectives. This role focuses on project governance, planning, stakeholder management, and cross-functional coordination—not hands-on technical execution.

The ideal candidate will have strong project and program management experience within IT environments, with a solid understanding of Cloud, DevOps, and infrastructure concepts sufficient to manage technical teams, end clients and associated vendors.

Key Responsibilities

Project & Program Management -

• Lead end-to-end delivery of IT, DevOps, and cloud-related projects.
• Lead the project team of ~20+ resources [including Tech and Project Management team] and perform resource manager duty.
• Define project scope, timelines, budgets, dependencies, and resource plans for new and existing clients.
• Coordinate with client engineering team, DevOps team, Senior leadership team, and various internal/external stakeholders to ensure defined milestones are met.
• Expert in managing all project types, i.e. Fixed price, T&M and Managed Services(RFB).
• Track project status, risks, and issues; provide mitigation strategies and update the stakeholders in timely frequency.
• Drive project and team governance through project reporting, dashboards, and PMO Bi-weekly and monthly review.
• Managing Overall and project wise revenue, cost and margins using Opstree internal management tool and act accordingly to maintain good margins.

Stakeholder Management -

• Act as a primary point of contact between business, IT, and external partners.
• Manage expectations, communication, and alignment with senior leadership.
• Facilitate project meetings, reviews, and decision-making forums.

Technical Project Oversight (Not hands-on) -

• Understand cloud, DevOps, and IT infrastructure concepts to effectively manage technical projects and workstreams for managed services.
• Ensure teams follow architecture standards, DevOps practices, and cloud governance guidelines during the execution.
• Validate technical deliverables from a project requirements standpoint.
• Sign off discussion with clients for each milestone/sprint.

Client Coordination -

• Manage client deliverables with ownership and handle the escalations.
• Manage contracts, SOWs, service quality, and performance metrics related discussions and facilitate accordingly.
• Track Client deliverables and ensure alignment with project goals.

New client onboarding -

• Participate in new client onboarding discussions in pre-sales call and/or requirement gathering calls.
• Perform effort estimation and cost estimation for new proposals.
• Participate in SOW signing and team onboarding for Central team projects.

Process Excellence & Continuous Improvement -

• Identify opportunities to improve project execution process(es), delivery frameworks, and DevOps workflows through self and internal audit.
• Promote Agile practices where applicable.
• Implement governance of project retrospectives report post completion of each project and monitor the action items for continuous improvement.

Compliance, Security & Documentation -

• Ensure projects adhere to IT security, compliance, and governance standards (coordinate with internal team for their validation and sign off).
• Maintain project documentation and user guides for handover when required.

Qualifications

Education -

• Masters in business administration and/or bachelor's degree in computer science with IT domain experience.

Experience -

• 8–10 years of experience in project or program management within IT/DevOps.
• Experience managing projects in cloud, DevOps, or IT infrastructure domains.
• Proven success in leading cross-functional teams and multi-vendor environments.

Skills

Project Management Skills -

• Strong project planning, delivery, P&L, and governance expertise.
• Experience with Agile/Scrum or hybrid project methodologies.

Technical Skills / Understanding (Not hands-on) -

• Conceptual understanding of cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP).
• Familiarity with DevOps practices, CI/CD pipelines, and IT infrastructure.

Soft Skills -

• Excellent communication, leadership, and stakeholder management.
• Strong analytical, documentation, and organizational capabilities.

Preferred Qualifications

• PMP, PRINCE2, CSM, or equivalent project management certification.
• Cloud certifications (AWS/Azure/GCP) are a plus but not mandatory.
• Experience managing DevOps transformation or cloud migration projects.
