Own *end-to-end execution of decentralized solar EPC projects* from financial handover to commissioning and handover to O&M, ensuring *schedule adherence, cost control, quality compliance, and client satisfaction* across multiple concurrent sites.
Key Responsibilities
1. Project Execution & Delivery (Post Financial Closure)
- Lead execution of rooftop and ground-mounted solar EPC projects from *financial handover to commissioning*.
- Ensure delivery as per *approved scope, drawings, BOQs, timelines, and safety standards*.
- Drive commissioning, statutory approvals, and final handover to O&M teams.
2. Project Planning & Monitoring
- Develop *detailed project execution schedules* (MS Project / equivalent) with defined milestones and dependencies.
- Track daily/weekly progress, identify slippages early, and implement *corrective actions*.
- Maintain updated *project trackers and status reports* for management review.
3. Team, Site & Contractor Management
- Manage site engineers, supervisors, EPC partners, subcontractors, and vendors across multiple locations.
- Conduct regular site visits to review progress, quality, safety, and manpower deployment.
- Ensure discipline in *daily site reporting, material tracking, and work measurements*.
- Coordinate vendor onboarding, performance monitoring, and compliance with contractual obligations.
- Manage statutory and regulatory interfaces including *DISCOMs, CEIG, electrical inspectors, net-metering, and grid connectivity*.
- Ensure timely submission and closure of all statutory documentation.
5. Budgeting, Cost Control & Commercial Discipline
- Review and approve *BOQs, work orders, and subcontractor scopes* in line with approved budgets.
- Track project costs vs. budget and flag overruns with mitigation plans.
- Support finance team with *RA bill certification, measurement validation, and cost forecasts*.
6. Quality, Safety & Documentation
- Ensure installations comply with *approved designs, technical standards, OEM guidelines, and safety norms*.
- Enforce quality checklists, inspection records, and safety protocols at site.
- Maintain complete project documentation including drawings, test reports, certificates, and as-built records for audit-ready handover.
7. Client & Stakeholder Management
- Act as the *single point of contact* for PSU clients, consultants, and authorities during execution.
- Manage client communications, site meetings, progress reviews, and issue resolution professionally.
- Ensure expectations are managed and contractual obligations are met without scope creep.
8. Risk Identification & Issue Resolution
- Proactively identify *technical, regulatory, supply-chain, or execution risks*.
- Develop and execute mitigation plans in coordination with Design, Procurement, and Finance teams.
- Escalate critical issues with data-backed options and recommended actions.
9. Cross-Functional Coordination
- Work closely with *Design, Procurement, Finance, Contracts, and O&M* teams to ensure seamless execution.
- Ensure adherence to internal *SOPs, approval matrices, and documentation standards*.
Requirements
Experience & Domain
- Proven experience managing *solar EPC projects (rooftop and/or ground-mounted)*.
- Strong exposure to *multi-site execution*, PSU/government projects preferred.
- Hands-on understanding of *electrical, civil, structural, and balance-of-system coordination*.
Technical & Managerial Skills
- Strong project planning and tracking capability (MS Project / Primavera / Zoho Projects or similar).
- Ability to manage vendors, contractors, and cross-functional teams with discipline.
- Solid understanding of *DISCOM processes, CEIG approvals, net-metering, and commissioning workflows*.
Qualifications
- B.Tech / B.E. (Electrical / Mechanical / Civil preferred).
- PMP or equivalent certification *preferred but not mandatory*.
- Ownership mindset with strong execution bias.
- Structured communicator with calm escalation and decision-making ability.
- Willingness to travel and manage projects across geographies.
