Job summary

ABB is seeking a Senior Project Manager to lead medium-size industrial automation projects from onsite Bengaluru. You will guide the project team, ensure compliance with procedures and contractual commitments, and drive successful delivery of deliverables within schedule and budget.

The role reports to Senior Project Manager and requires deep expertise in electrical, instrumentation, automation, and telecom domains, with strong stakeholder engagement and leadership capabilities.

Qualifications

• 8–12 years of experience in industrial automation project management.
• Advanced knowledge of Primavera, MS Project and SAP.
• Strong negotiation, problem solving and stakeholder management skills.
• Engineering degree BE/BTech in Electrical or Electronics.

Responsibilities

• Lead the execution of medium-size projects and ensure activities align with procedures, standards and targets.
• Manage project progress, resources, and financials to deliver contracted deliverables.
• Identify, quantify and pursue project risks and opportunities; drive contract close-out and formal acceptance.
• Lead the project team and coordinate internal/external resources to achieve goals.

This Position reports to: Senior Project Manager.

Your Role And Responsibilities

In this role, you will have the opportunity to lead the execution of medium-size projects. Each day, you will ensure that all related activities are executed in accordance with procedures, regulations, standards, specifications and targets. You will also showcase your expertise by leading the project team members to achieve project requirements, deliver contracted deliverables, and meet the committed project result.

The work model for the role is: Onsite.

This role is contributing to the Process Automation – Energy division in the India region.

You will be mainly accountable for:

• Leading the project team, establishing the project execution approach, and overseeing planning, monitoring and control activities for internal and external resources to accomplish all project goals.
• Monitoring and controlling project progress, efficient resource utilization, and project financials.
• Identifying, qualifying, quantifying, managing project risk, and ensuring all opportunities are identified and pursued.
• Driving the formal acceptance of the project, contract close-out, and acknowledgment by the customer, all in accordance with the contract.

Qualifications for the role:

• You enjoy working in project management with a focus on electrical, instrumentation, automation, and telecommunication projects.
• You have over 8-12 years of experience in Industrial automation project management.
• You possess advanced knowledge of project planning tools such as Primavera, MS Project, and SAP.
• You are passionate about negotiation, problem-solving, stakeholder management, and leadership.
• You hold an engineering degree in B.E / B.Tech (Electrical / Electronics).
• You are comfortable communicating in English, both verbally and in writing.
