Job summary

ABB Nashik is seeking a Project Engineer to lead the execution of small, low‑complexity projects within the Electrification business. You will ensure activities align with procedures, regulations, standards, specifications and targets.

The role emphasizes scheduling techniques, risk management, and cross‑functional collaboration with global teams; English communication skills required; PMP preferred.

Qualifications

• 5–8 years of experience in Industrial Engineering / Manufacturing Operations with hands-on process improvement and productivity gains.
• Experience in LV Switchgear projects across lifecycle; data center projects preferred.
• Good technical knowledge of LV Switchgear assemblies and IEC 61439.
• Basic knowledge of LV Switchgear digitalization and communication protocols.
• Full-time degree in Industrial/Production/Mechanical/Electrical/ Electronics Engineering; PMP preferred.

Responsibilities

• Lead the project team allocated to the project.
• Monitor and control project progress, resource utilization, and project financials.
• Identify, qualify, quantify, manage project risk; pursue opportunities.
• Drive formal project acceptance, contract close-out, and customer acknowledgment per contract.

This Position reports to: Project Operations Manager

Your Role And Responsibilities

In this role, you will have the opportunity to lead the execution of small projects with low complexity. Each day, you will ensure that all related activities are executed in accordance with procedures, regulations, standards, specifications and targets. You will also showcase your expertise by defining and applying basic project scheduling techniques to manage schedule risks proactively.

This role is contributing to the Electrification business in Smart Power division at Nashik, India.

You will be mainly accountable for:

• Leading the project team allocated to the project.
• Monitoring and controlling project progress, efficient resource utilization, and project financials.
• Identifying, qualifying, quantifying, managing project risk, and ensuring all opportunities are identified and pursued.
• Driving the formal acceptance of the project, contract close-out, and acknowledgment by the customer, all in accordance with the contract.

Qualifications For The Role

• You have 5 to 8 years of experience in Industrial Engineering / Manufacturing Operations, with hands‑on experience in process improvement, capacity planning, productivity improvement, manufacturing line setup, and industrialization.
• You have hands‑on experience in LV Switchgear projects, preferably covering the complete project lifecycle from project initiation through close-out. Experience in Hyperscale Data Center projects is preferred.
• You possess good technical knowledge of LV Switchgear assemblies and IEC 61439, with experience or understanding of components including ACBs, MCCBs, motor protection relays, numerical relays, soft starters, and VFDs.
• You have basic knowledge of LV Switchgear digitalization and communication protocols, including Modbus, Profibus, and IEC 61850, with an understanding of related network architecture.
• You hold a full‑time Degree in Industrial Engineering, Production Engineering, Mechanical / Electrical/ Electronics/ Manufacturing Engineering, or a related discipline from a reputed university. PMP certification is preferred.
• You are at ease communicating in English, with strong written and verbal communication skills and the ability to effectively collaborate with cross‑functional and global teams, including preparation of business communications, presentations, and technical reports.
