Job summary

Siemens Energy in India is seeking a seasoned Mechanical Engineer to lead the complete technical scope for a variety of packaged rotating equipment for onshore and offshore projects, including gas turbine-generators, gas turbine-compressors, and electric motor-driven compressor trains.

You will guide multi-disciplinary teams, ensure on-time release of specs and documentation, and manage contract requirements and certifications.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering with experience in packaging or operation of rotating equipment.
• 10 years of experience in Rotating Equipment for Oil & Gas, Petrochemical, and related industries.
• Willingness to travel up to 20%.
• Experience with Engineering/PLM software Teamcenter, NX, E3, COMOS, and/or Jira.
• Experience with SAP.
• Prior knowledge of Siemens applications, customers, processes, and products.

How You’ll Make An Impact

• Manage complete technical scope for supply of new packaged rotating equipment for onshore and offshore projects including gas turbine-generators, gas turbine-compressors, electric motor-driven compressor trains, and extended plant scope.
• Good understanding of Gear Box, Coupling and systems
• Support Project Manager to address technical concerns with internal and external clients. Lead global technical project teams of multi-discipline engineers, designers and suppliers
• Manage Engineering schedule, including on time release of equipment specifications, bills of material, and customer documentation
• Lead all technical contract requirements on assigned projects to deliver on targets and objectives, including certifications and compliance to all applicable standards
• Provide engineering support during proposal, manufacturing, testing, installation, commissioning and operation
• Support team with detailed design decisions to meet contract requirements, such as overall system control philosophies and main equipment specification
• Conduct detailed review of contract requirements and specifications and translate these to the project team.

What You Bring

• Bachelors Degree in Mechanical Engineering with experience in packaging or operation of rotating equipment
• Relevant minimum experience of 10 years is expected in the field of Rotating Equipment for Oil & Gas, Petrochemical, and other Process Industry applications, achieved through combination of positions in Engineering, Project Management, Manufacturing, Proposals, and/or Procurement.
• Ability to travel up to 20% of the time
• Ability to direct a small team and give general direction to others
• Experience with Engineering/PLM software Teamcenter, NX, E3, COMOS, and/or Jira
• Excellent computer skills (Pivot Tables, VBA or other programming language)
• Experience with SAP
• Prior knowledge of Siemens applications, customers, processes, and products
