Job summary

Siemens Energy in India is seeking an experienced Mechanical Engineer to lead the technical scope for packaged rotating equipment across onshore and offshore projects. You will coordinate multi-discipline teams, manage schedules, and ensure compliance with contract requirements and industry standards.

The role requires a Bachelor’s in Mechanical Engineering, 10+ years in rotating equipment for oil & gas or process industries, and travel up to 20%.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent with exposure to rotating equipment.
• Minimum 10 years of experience in rotating equipment for Oil & Gas, Petrochemical, or process industries.
• Willingness to travel up to 20% of time.
• Ability to lead a small team and provide direction to others.
• Experience with engineering/PLM software such as Teamcenter, NX, E3, COMOS, and Jira.
• Proficient in MS Excel (Pivot Tables, VBA) and related tools.

• Own the complete technical scope for supply of new packaged rotating equipment for onshore/offshore projects.
• Lead global multi-discipline engineering teams and coordinate with clients and suppliers.
• Manage engineering schedules and timely release of specifications, BOMs, and documentation.
• Lead technical contract requirements to meet project targets and compliance.
• Provide engineering support during proposal, manufacturing, testing, installation, and commissioning.
• Translate contract requirements into actionable design decisions for the project team.
• Conduct detailed reviews of contracts and specifications to ensure alignment.

How You’ll Make An Impact

• Manage complete technical scope for supply of new packaged rotating equipment for onshore and offshore projects including gas turbine-generators, gas turbine-compressors, electric motor-driven compressor trains, and extended plant scope.
• Good understanding of Gear Box, Coupling and systems
• Support Project Manager to address technical concerns with internal and external clients. Lead global technical project teams of multi-discipline engineers, designers and suppliers
• Manage Engineering schedule, including on time release of equipment specifications, bills of material, and customer documentation
• Lead all technical contract requirements on assigned projects to deliver on targets and objectives, including certifications and compliance to all applicable standards
• Provide engineering support during proposal, manufacturing, testing, installation, commissioning and operation
• Support team with detailed design decisions to meet contract requirements, such as overall system control philosophies and main equipment specification
• Conduct detailed review of contract requirements and specifications and translate these to the project team.

What You Bring

• Bachelors Degree in Mechanical Engineering with experience in packaging or operation of rotating equipment
• Relevant minimum experience of 10 years is expected in the field of Rotating Equipment for Oil & Gas, Petrochemical, and other Process Industry applications, achieved through combination of positions in Engineering, Project Management, Manufacturing, Proposals, and/or Procurement.
• Ability to travel up to 20% of the time
• Ability to direct a small team and give general direction to others
• Experience with Engineering/PLM software Teamcenter, NX, E3, COMOS, and/or Jira
• Excellent computer skills (Pivot Tables, VBA or other programming language)
• Experience with SAP
• Prior knowledge of Siemens applications, customers, processes, and products
