Job summary

Siemens Energy in India is seeking a Package Engineer - Compressor Package & Installation Design to join a global project team. You will own the package and installation design of the compressor train, including driver, compressor and auxiliaries, with interfaces to base plates and piping.

You will read client specs, create technical concepts, prepare specs, and manage BOMs while coordinating with cross-functional teams to ensure quality, budget, and on-time delivery.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering required.
• 5–10 years experience in Rotating Equipment for Oil & Gas, Petrochemical.
• Experience with 3D modelling and drafting in UG-NX.
• Knowledge of Teamcenter/Globus and SAP/Atlas.
• Familiarity with ASME, API and B31.3 piping standards.
• Strong analytical, communication, and cross-cultural skills.

Responsibilities

• Package engineering, design and installation concept (layout).
• Convert client specifications into manufacturing/purchase specs.
• Create technical concepts for package integration and layout.
• Prepare technical specs for base frame, guards, structures and platforms.
• Create BOMs for piping and components.

• Lead or support checklist creation, processes, guidelines for quality.
• Ensure quality, budget and on-time-delivery for package deliverables.

As a Package Engineer - Compressor Package & Installation Design you will be responsible within a global project team for the package and installation design of the entire compressor train consisting of driver, compressor and auxiliary systems. The scope of duties also includes the handling of components and systems within the compressor train, such as base plate and piping. The position offers many interfaces and varied and exciting challenges, as our product solutions are tailored to customer needs, and you will be working on new technologies and applications as part of the energy transition and decarbonization.

How will you make an Impact!

• Responsible for package engineering, design and the installation concept (layout).
• Ability to read and convert client specifications into manufacturing / purchase spec.
• Creation of Technical Concepts & special solutions pertaining to Package Integration and Layout.
• Prepare Technical Specification for compressor base frame, coupling guard, structures and platforms
• Creation of Bill of Materials for ordering of pipe and components
• Responsible for cross-functional collaboration & co-ordination for effective execution of project
• Plan, implement and support detail design engineering in collaboration with customers
• Lead / Support in preparing Checklist, defining processes, procedures, guidelines to ensure the quality of the documents.
• Responsible for quality, Budget & OTD for package deliverables
• Good verbal and written communication skills

What you Bring!

• Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering
• Relevant experience of 5 to 10 years is expected in the field of Rotating Equipment for Oil & Gas, Petrochemical, and other Process Industry applications
• 3D modelling and drafting with UG - NX (Mechanical Routing) & GloBus/Teamcenter.
• Knowledge of Teamcenter/Globus, SAP/Atlas. Knowledge of mechanical design, plant and piping Design
• Knowledge of ASME, API and relevant internal and international standards. Knowledge - B31.3 / B 31.3 piping design
• Knowledge of products (Compressor, Turbine, cooler, lube oil unit etc.).
• Analytical skills, Good communication & Cross cultural skill set. Proficiency in English language.
