Job summary

Siemens Energy in India is seeking a seasoned Controls Engineer to lead design, development, and deployment of instrument and electrical systems for rotating equipment across oil & gas and petrochemical sectors. The role emphasizes mathematical modelling, control theory, and automation of complex industrial processes.

You will work on data sheets, P&IDs, wiring diagrams, and COMOS PT data models while aligning with global design standards.

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Engineering in Instrumentation/Controls/Electronics or Diploma with relevant experience.
• Experience in Rotating Equipment for Oil & Gas, Petrochemical, and other process industries is preferred.
• Knowledge of standards API 670, IEC 60079, DIN EN 60617.

Responsibilities

• Lead control system scope for rotating equipment projects in coordination with project members and System Engineering.
• Prepare datasheets, P&IDs, single-line diagrams, and wiring diagrams; maintain the data model with System Engineering in COMOS PT.
• Design and specify Unit Control Systems, Instrumentation, and Low Voltage wiring for Industrial Applications (compression, power generation, Oil-Gas); produce P&ID diagrams, I/O lists, control logics, and panel layouts.
• Follow Siemens Energy design standards and international requirements; ensure on-time release of deliverables.
• Monitor engineering schedule and hours-budget for assigned scope; support client collaborations and conduct design reviews.

How Will You Make An Impact.

• This role is responsible for control system scope of rotating equipment project together with other project members and content provider, mainly System Engineering.
• Order related representation of the Instrumentation & Control Engineering. Preparing datasheets, P&ID´s, Single line Diagrams, and wiring Diagrams. This role is responsible for maintaining the data model together with other project members and content provider, mainly System Engineering in COMOS PT.
• Design and specify Unit Control Systems, Instrumentation, and Low Voltage Wiring systems which compliment Rotating Machinery used in Industrial Applications - namely compression, power generation and Oil-Gas. Design drawings including P&I diagrams, instrument lists, control logics and description, control panel layout, I/O termination, control panel power distribution, instrumentation installation, motor control schematics, hardwired control circuits.
• Incorporates Siemens Energy design standards and guidelines and adapts the assigned scope to meet project-specific requirements, due to Customer Specifications and follows international standard requirements.
• Monitors and manages the engineering schedule and hours-budget for the assigned scope, including on-time release of deliverables.
• Support detail engineering in cooperation with internal and external Customers.
• Conducts timely design reviews on the assigned scope and contributes to project design reviews.
• Innovate, creatively apply lessons learned, and implement cost-effective solutions for COMOS PT development, requirements management, that prevent non-conformances during project execution.

What you Bring!

• Bachelor of Engineering Degree in discipline (Instrumentation/Controls/Electronics), Diploma (State-certified technical engineer) with relevant experience.
• 8 - 16 years of experience in Rotating Equipment for Oil & Gas, Petrochemical, and other Process Industry applications, achieved through working on Industrial Applications Products in Controls and Instrumentation Engineering are preferred.
• Experience in Electrical Equipment Engineering shall be considered.
• Experience in Services - Installation & Commissioning Engineering shall be considered.
• Application experience with objects-oriented Engineering Software e.g., COMOS PT.
• Know-how of standards: API 670 (Machinery Protection System), IEC 60079 (Explosive Atmosphere Standards), DIN EN 60617 (Graphic Symbol Standards) .
• Good Analytical & Cross-cultural skill set.
• Proficiency in English Language.
