• Design & Innovation: Drive innovation in retail design and create visually appealing spaces that enhance customer engagement
• Project Planning: Oversee end-to-end design process for retail projects from conceptualization to execution
• Project Execution: Initiate execution after final agreement and ensure snag-free store handover
• Maintenance: Define and drive the processes relating to maintenance
• Financial Planning: Develop and manage project budgets, monitor expenses and risks
• Vendor Management: Build long-term relationships with retail partners and collaborate with cross-functional teams
• People Management: Build and mentor a high-performance design team and set clear expectations

Role

Reporting to the Operations Head, Head of Projects will be responsible for focused expansion of Home Centre stores which involves strategizing, planning and executing projects aimed at enhancing the retail experience, optimizing store layouts, improving customer engagement, and driving sales growth. The role is based in Bangalore, India.

Key Job Responsibilities

Strategic Vision and Leadership

• Develop strategic direction for evolution of new store design for Home Centre
• Develop a consumer centric store design that takes into account the need of various Furniture and Household categories and also be competitive and differentiated v/s competition
• Lead, mentor, and manage a team of designers/ architects and project managers to achieve project objective

Design & Innovation

• Drive innovation in retail design, incorporating the latest trends, technologies, and best practices.
• Create visually appealing and functional retail spaces that enhance customer engagement and experience.
• Review the inputs received from relevant departments (Operations, VM, Marketing & Finance) with reference to store planning and finalize the same
• Oversee the process of layout planning for the entire store and ordering of fixtures
• Recommend design improvements and changes to align to global standards

Project Planning

• Evaluate the new premises in terms of architectural feasibility
• Oversee the end-to-end design process for retail projects, from conceptualization to execution.
• Ensure projects are completed on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards
• Establish and maintain design standards and guidelines to ensure consistency and quality across all retail projects

Project Execution

• Initiate execution of project after the final agreement sign off
• Review project schedules and take required actions to address deviations in schedules
• Review the handover process and take required actions to address issues and deviations for handover of a snag free store
• Ensure the project team collaborates with the relevant stakeholders for an issue free store opening

Maintenance

• Define and drive the processes relating to maintenance

Financial Planning

• Develop and manage project budgets, ensuring cost-effective design solutions without compromising quality Monitor and control project expenses, identifying and mitigating financial risks
• Develop long term and short term financial plans and budgets for the function in collaboration with the concerned stakeholders
• Review and ensure adherence to the defined financial plans and budgets
• Finalize vendors, assess their performance and take required actions

Vendor Management

• Build long term relationships with Retail partners by understanding their strategy, positioning, scalability and relevance
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure seamless execution of business plans

People Management

• Build the team, set performance expectations, evaluate performance and coach the team to maximize performance
• Identify high potential team members and build a pipeline of talent for critical roles in the team
• Mentor and coach the team for sustained development
• Build a high - performance culture
