Job summary

Larsen & Toubro Limited in Panipat is seeking an experienced Project Engineer - Transmission Line to lead site execution for major line projects. You will coordinate survey, tower erection, stringing and commissioning activities with civil, mechanical and safety teams.

The role requires 10–20 years of field experience and BE/BTech. You will ensure drawings, BOQ, and specs are followed, manage contractors, review progress, and support project billing.

Qualifications

• BE/BTech with 10–20 years field experience.

Responsibilities

• Execute site activities: surveying, tower foundation, erection, stringing, sagging.

Job Description

Site Execution & Supervision

• Execute all site activities related to surveying, tower foundation, erection, stringing, and sagging.


• Supervise contractor teams for tower erection using derricks, cranes, or gin poles as per method statements.


• Ensure all works are performed in line with approved drawings, BOQ, and specifications.


• Monitor daily site progress, manpower, and equipment utilization.


• Coordinate with civil, mechanical, and safety teams for smooth execution.


• Liaise with clients, consultants, and vendors for inspections and material dispatch.


• Maintain site documentation – daily progress report, work permits, and measurement records.


• Prepare and maintain as-built drawings and material reconciliation statements.


• Support project billing and progress measurement activities.

Quality Control & Inspection

• Check foundation marking, stub setting, and concreting as per approved design.


• Inspect fabricated tower materials, hardware, insulators, and conductors at site.


• Ensure tightening torque values, alignment, and verticality of towers as per standards.


• Conduct inspection during stringing, maintain proper sag and tension, and ensure clearance from ground and obstacles.

Testing and Commissioning
