What will you do? Using your experience and knowledge, you will be a part of the delivery of a variety of projects and bids drawing upon the wider team for the technical engineering requirements and building a strong relationship with our clients. You will be client-facing and, as an expert, you will be guiding and training the team, focusing on upcoming technologies and ensuring the team meets client expectations.
Responsibilities
- Manage/handle Design & Engineering of large and complex projects in Traction power, including Design Compliance, Design phases & review, and stakeholder management.
- Prepare Technical Specification & proposals for bids, including design basis, feasibility and technical reports.
- Control interfaces with various disciplines by mutual agreement without commercial impact, adhering to latest international standards (EN, IEEE, IEC).
- Support tendering activities by preparing preliminary design documentation, drawings, Bill of Quantities, and engineering man‑hour estimates.
- Interface with clients, contractors, consultants, utility authorities, and railway operators; participate in technical meetings and progress reviews.
- Handle design reviews, technical workshops, value engineering studies, and risk assessments; track engineering progress and identify design risks, mitigation measures, and opportunities for optimization.
- Provide technical support during procurement, manufacturing, installation, testing, and commissioning phases, and participate in FAT, SAT, integrated testing and commissioning activities.
- Lead detailed design engineering for Traction Power Systems, covering TSS, ASS, SP, SSP, OHE/OCS, Third Rail, SCADA interfaces, earthing & bonding, EMC, and associated systems; ensure deliverables align with project schedules, quality requirements, employer specifications, and EPC contract obligations.
- Review and approve detailed design drawings, calculations, reports, material requisitions, technical specifications, and installation methodologies; coordinate with Civil, Track, Signalling, Telecom, E&M, Rolling Stock, SCADA and Construction teams for successful interface integration.
Qualifications
- 8 to 12 years of experience in Railway Electrification and Traction Power Systems, with at least 5 years in EPC Metro/RRTS/High‑Speed Rail/Mainline Railway projects.
- Experience managing detailed design engineering, procurement support, installation support, and testing & commissioning activities.
- Proven engineering design experience on at least one or two major EPC railway projects.
