Job summary

Thermo King, part of Trane Technologies, invites applications for a Project Engineer-EES to lead and support engineering initiatives on-site at Chennai. The role emphasizes coordinating multidisciplinary teams, ensuring timely delivery within budget, and maintaining safety and quality standards.

Candidates should have 7–8 years of hands-on project execution in mechanical/electrical engineering or HVAC, with strong reading of drawings and good communication in English/Hindi.

Qualifications

• Diploma in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering or related technical field.
• ITI/NCTVT in HVAC with 7–8 years hands-on experience in project execution.
• Exposure to project engineering, coordination, or technical delivery.

Responsibilities

• Support planning, execution, and completion of engineering projects.
• Coordinate with cross-functional teams including engineering, operations, procurement, and contractors.
• Review requirements, specifications, drawings, and schedules.
• Track progress, budgets, risks, and deliverables.
• Prepare technical documentation and project updates.
• Assist with design reviews, testing, commissioning and implementation activities.
• Ensure compliance with codes, safety and quality requirements.
• Identify issues and develop corrective actions.
• Communicate with internal stakeholders, suppliers, and customers.
• Supervise and control ON SITE activities daily.
• Coordinate with Customer Engineering Team/PMC/HVAC/MEP consultants and suppliers.

Job Description-Project Engineer-EES

A Project Engineer is responsible for planning, coordinating, and supporting engineering projects from initiation through completion. This role helps ensure projects are delivered on time, within budget, and in compliance with technical, quality, and safety requirements.

Key Responsibilities

• Support the planning, execution, and completion of engineering projects.
• Coordinate with cross-functional teams, including engineering, operations, procurement, and contractors.
• Review project requirements, specifications, drawings, and schedules.
• Track project progress, budgets, risks, and deliverables.
• Prepare technical documentation, reports, and project updates.
• Assist with design reviews, testing, commissioning, and implementation activities.
• Ensure compliance with applicable codes, standards, safety policies, and quality requirements.
• Identify project issues and help develop corrective actions.
• Communicate regularly with internal stakeholders, suppliers, and customers as needed.
• To supervise and control ON SITE activities on daily basis.
• Co ordination with Customer Engineering Team/PMC/HVAC or MEP consultant/Suppliers and Contractors.
• Should have good communication skill read/write and spoken English or Hindi

Required Qualifications

• Diploma in Mechanical / Electrical Engineering or bachelor’s degree in mechanical / electrical engineering or a related technical field.
• ITI / NCTVT in HVAC with minimum 7-8 years hands on experience in project execution.
• Experience in project engineering, project coordination, or technical project delivery.
• Strong understanding of engineering principles, project management practices, and technical documentation.
• Ability to read and interpret drawings, specifications, and project plans.
• Strong organizational, problem-solving, and communication skills.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office and relevant engineering or project management tools.

Preferred Qualifications

• Professional Engineering certification or project management certification.
• Experience in HVAC, manufacturing, construction, or industrial environments.
• Familiarity with budgeting, scheduling, and risk management.
• Knowledge of AUTOCAD/REVIT MEP
