Job summary

Trane Technologies invites applications for a Project Engineer – EES to support planning, execution, and completion of engineering projects on-site in Chennai. The role requires coordinating cross-functional teams including engineering, operations, procurement, and contractors, while reviewing drawings, schedules, and budgets to ensure timely delivery.

The candidate should have a diploma or degree in mechanical/electrical engineering or HVAC-focused ITI/NCTVT with hands-on project delivery

Qualifications

• Diploma or bachelor’s in mechanical/electrical engineering or related field.
• ITI / NCTVT in HVAC with 7-8 years hands-on project execution experience.
• Experience in project engineering, project coordination, or technical project delivery.
• Ability to read and interpret drawings, specifications, and project plans.
• Strong organizational, problem-solving, and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Support the planning, execution, and completion of engineering projects.
• Coordinate with cross-functional teams including engineering, operations, procurement, and contractors.
• Review project requirements, specifications, drawings, and schedules.
• Track project progress, budgets, risks, and deliverables.
• Prepare technical documentation, reports, and project updates.
• Assist with design reviews, testing, commissioning, and implementation activities.
• Ensure compliance with applicable codes, standards, safety policies, and quality requirements.
• Identify project issues and help develop corrective actions.
• Communicate regularly with internal stakeholders, suppliers, and customers as needed.
• Supervise and control ON SITE activities on a daily basis.
• Coordinate with Customer Engineering Team/PMC/HVAC or MEP consultant/Suppliers and Contractors.

Where is the work: On-Site (5 days)

Key Responsibilities

Required Qualifications

• Diploma in Mechanical / Electrical Engineering or bachelor’s degree in mechanical / electrical engineering or a related technical field.
• ITI / NCTVT in HVAC with minimum 7-8 years hands on experience in project execution.
• Experience in project engineering, project coordination, or technical project delivery.
• Strong understanding of engineering principles, project management practices, and technical documentation.
• Ability to read and interpret drawings, specifications, and project plans.
• Strong organizational, problem-solving, and communication skills.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office and relevant engineering or project management tools.

Preferred Qualifications

• Professional Engineering certification or project management certification.
• Experience in HVAC, manufacturing, construction, or industrial environments.
• Familiarity with budgeting, scheduling, and risk management.
• Knowledge of AUTOCAD/REVIT MEP
