Job summary

Trane Technologies invites a talented Tech Lead - Product Engineering to join our team in Bengaluru, India. You will facilitate the design and manufacturing of our current and next line of exciting products, partnering with cross-functional teams across the globe to build industry-relevant products that meet customer specifications.

We seek BE in Mechanical Engineering or a Master’s in Thermal Engineering with 3+ years of design engineering experience, DFMEA, and test planning.

Qualifications

• BE degree in Mechanical Engineering or Master's in Thermal Engineering.
• 3+ years of experience in component selection, system integration and design engineering.
• Experience in DFMEA and test plan development.
• Knowledge of metal and non-metal component design and assemblies.
• Excellent communication and teamwork skills.

Responsibilities

• Understand project requirements and collaborate with project owners and cross-functional teams across the globe to deliver projects using standard processes.
• Ensure milestones and deliverables meet quality, delivery, and cost targets with proficient project management.
• Troubleshoot technical problems, participate in design reviews, and manage multiple projects concurrently.
• Develop concepts and select/develop components, create component specifications and DFMEA/test plan.
• Create and release engineering documentation using PLM/PDM software (ProE, Windchill) and coordinate design changes with stakeholders.

Trane is excited to announce an incredible opportunity for a talented professional to join our team as a Tech Lead - Product Engineering. In this pivotal role, you will facilitate the design and manufacturing of our current & next line of exciting products. As a lead product engineer, you will work closely with the cross functional teams in various locations of our business to build industry-relevant products that meet the required specifications for our global customers. The projects could be in the areas of Productivity, Q&R, NPD, Agile, NTP and others.

What You Will Do

• In this role you will:
  • Understand project requirements, collaborate with project owners, leaders & cross-functional teams across the globe for the delivery of projects, by adhering to standard processes, systems, and project management principles
  • Ensure the completion of project milestones/deliverables within committed Quality (Q), Delivery (D), Project cost (C) &Product cost (C) targets. Proficient in Project management.
  • Solve technical problems, identify solutions, participate in concept reviews, critical design reviews, and other technical discussions with the global team and handle multiple projects at the same time
  • Develop concepts, design/select & develop components along with suppliers, develop component specifications for structural component (metal, non-metal) and assemblies, DFMEA and test plan
  • Create and release engineering documentation using PLM & PDM software like ProE & Windchill. (Design, Drawings, Bill of material, and Specifications).
  • Co-ordinate with cross-functional team to implement design changes.

What You Will Bring

BE degree - Mechanical/ Masters in Thermal Engineering / related specialization

• 3+ years on experience in component selection, system integration, concept development, design calculations, design engineering in the domain currently working.
• Experience in product design, development process/phases; Hands on experience in DFMEA and test plan development. Exposure to prototype/engineering builds & testing.
• Good Knowledge of metal & Non-metal component design, assy, Mfg process. Basics of Electrical system / components would be added advantage.
• Basic knowledge in understanding material properties for materials selection considering application requirements.
• Demonstrates ability to get to root cause and to take effective action to solve problems. Hands on experience with problem solving tools.
• Demonstrates innovation & initiative approach at work, ability to develop new methods and approaches.
• Fosters effective teamwork where people work together to achieve common goals. A strong team player that can work with others.
• Excellent communication skills. Demonstrates the ability to communicate ideas and results in a clear and concise manner
