Job summary

Valmet invites a Project Engineer (QCS) to join the engineering team in Pune, India, focusing on quality control systems for pulp and paper. The role involves planning with the project manager, leading system setup, and coordinating on-site activities, including FAT and safety management.

You will contribute to commissioning, sensors and measurement setups, and customer training while ensuring successful project delivery and documentation.

Qualifications

• BE in Instrumentation, Electrical or Electronics from a reputed university
• Diploma in Paper Technology or equivalent experience
• Experience in pulp and paper process and plant operations with quality management/measurement systems

Responsibilities

• Participates in project planning with the project manager, including goals, scheduling, risk analysis, and installation checklists
• Leads system initialization and configuration with internal and external resources
• Manages on-site work: safety, scheduling, customer communication, and change requests
• Finalizes system documentation and prepares commissioning reports; ensures delivery meets customer expectations

Project Engineer(QCS)

Job description:

We are looking for “Project Engineer, QCS” to be based inPune,India. This position reports to “Engineering Manager, Projects”. In this position you will havethe opportunityto work as an individual or in a team whopossesstechnical responsibility for the delivery of Quality Control Systemwhomprimarily works in office or in a paper mill environment.

In this position, you will be required followings:

Work Experience

Youmust have experience on Pulp and Paper process and plant operations and maintenance with quality management/measurement system along with latest plant control system,Project activities likeInstallation and commissioning, Factory Acceptance Test (FAT), control tuning, radioactive source handlingand Cross directional/Machine directionalcontrol techniques used in Paper and Board machines.Hands-on experience in Project lead activities.

Major Responsibilities:

1. Participatesin the planning ofthe project with theproject managerwith respect to the goals of the project, overall scheduling, risk analysis/contingency plan, and installation checklists.
2. Participatesin the Definition phase of the project (Internal/external kick-off meetings, responsibilities, system definition, customer communication, freezing dates)
3. Takes the lead role in system initialization and configuration by internal and external resources.
4. Organizes and runs the internal testing and customer Factory Acceptance Testing
5. Takes lead role in managing site work:
   • Responsible for site safety
   • Coordinates work schedules for on-site personnel
   • Handles customer communication including safety, progressreports ,and site schedules
   • Handles change requests together with the project manager
   • Ensures that the delivery meets the customer’s expectations, including:
   • Commissioning of sensors and measurements
   • Successful implementation of all delivered quality controls
   • Customer training
   • Successful completion of performance guarantees
   • Manages the punch list fortimelycompletion
6. Finalizesystem documentation and arrange for preparation of commissioning reports, including value/ROI delivered
7. Provides feedback of customer’s comments for customer satisfaction assessment
8. Participatesin transfer to service

To succeed this role, you will need:

• Engineering Graduate (BE) in Instrumentation or Electronics or Electrical from reputed university
• Added skills or diploma for paper technology or experience from reputed paper millrequired. Experienceofproject engineering/execution (logic development).
