Job summary

Valmet is seeking a Lead Engineer, Piping Engineering based in Chennai, India. You will lead piping design activities for pulp, energy and circularity projects, coordinate with suppliers and sites, and ensure compliance with ASME/EN codes and stress analysis requirements.

You will manage engineering deliverables, mentor junior engineers, interface with COMOS, AutoCAD, E3D and other tools, and drive project schedules while maintaining high quality standards.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering
• 10–15 years in piping design and detail engineering
• Experience with AutoCAD, E3D, Caesar II, Rohr II
• Piping layout and boiler/evaporator area experience
• ASME/EN code knowledge and stress analysis
• Leadership of engineers/designers
• Strong written and oral English

Lead Engineer, Piping Engineering for Pulp, Energy & Circularity Business Area (based in Chennai, India)

We are looking for “Lead Engineer, Piping Engineering” to be based in Chennai, India. This position reports to “Manager, Engineering, India”. In this position you will have an opportunity to carry out all engineering activities associated with Piping for all kinds of projects and carry out Plant design modeling wherever required and to play a lead engineer role if nominated in coordinating, directing and carrying out all activities of engineering.

In This Position, You Will Be Required To

• Develop and carry out engineering for piping including layout, support engineering, detailed design and associated engineering calculations including flexibility analysis.
• To carry out basic modeling of Boiler & Evaporator area consisting of various equipment, platform, structures and other items considering various aspects such as operation, maintenance, access requirements, load data for structures, general arrangement drawings etc.
• To interface with COMOS, MFile etc.
• To coordinate with all agencies for receipt of inputs and maintain schedule.
• To provide deliverables meeting the quality requirements.
• Managing and development of the reporting Engineers/Designers.

To Succeed This Role, You Will Need

• Mechanical Engineering Graduate with 10 - 15 years of Experience
• Minimum 8 years of exp.in design and detail engineering of piping using software like
• AutoCAD, E3D, Caesar II, Rohr II etc.,
• Piping Layout and Detail engineering of Boiler & Evaporator area.
• Detail engineering knowledge of Piping along with experience in stress & support engineering
• Good Knowledge of ASME and EN codes, strength calculation.
• Good knowledge of flexibility analysis
• Leading the team of Engineers / Designers
• Coordinating with Shop, Site, Customer and other Engineering units.
• Exposure on software COMOS, M files, AutoCAD, E3d, Navis, Caesar II, Rohr II, Licad etc.
• Effective written and oral communication skills in English.
