Job summary

Svamitva Architecture Studio is seeking a Project Architect in Bangalore. The role involves designing and drafting architectural drawings for diverse projects, consulting with clients on design and budgets, and coordinating with contractors and engineers on site progress.

Position: Project Architect

Reporting Manager: Associate Architect Location: Bangalore

Job Responsibilities:

1. Design and Draft drawings

• Show keen interest in and sensibility in forming usable and unusable spaces.
• Designing and drafting architectural and working detail plans for residential, commercial, industrial and interior construction projects.
• Work with drafting and 3D software based on CAD and 3 dimensional modeling to design projects and then present these plans to the team, the clients and construction crew.
• Collaborate with engineers to ensure that project elements like structures, services and building elements are developed according to required design adhering to required standards, local codes and meet client needs.

2. Consult with Clients

• Consult directly with clients to determine a projects needs, client requirements at intellectual and technical level and specifications for many design elements.
• In addition to initial meetings with clients to determine project scope, set budgets, and generate contracts, the project architect frequently meets with clients to discuss progress, clear up questions that arise during the construction process, and report on site development.
• Communicate with clients at different stages of construction and once the project is completed, ensure that it met clients needs and expectations.

3. Oversee Contractors and Construction Crews

• A project architect will also make frequent site visits throughout the construction project to monitor contractor progress, answer questions that may arise, and ensure that milestones are completed according to the project timeline.
• Provide expertise and advice throughout the building process while also stepping in to prevent delays and to make changes to the initial project plan or blueprint as needed.

4. Visit and Review Work Sites

• Responsible for site planning and development to ensure that projects comply with zoning, environmental, and safety requirements.
• Throughout the project, the project architect will also conduct site visits and review to ensure that these standards are upheld and correctly implemented at all stages of construction.

5.Prepare Documents and Specifications

• As part of the development and design process, a project architect also prepares project documents and specifications for both contractors and clients.
• This may also include preparing material specifications, bill of quantity (very specific ones) documents for certain project elements, developing and maintaining a project manual.

6. Budget and Schedule Management

• Project architects need to manage both time schedules and project budgets to ensure that construction projects are completed on time and within set budgets.
• A project architect should be highly organized and able to determine which contractors are needed and set project milestones and deadlines.
• In addition, a project architect may be responsible for identifying material needs and costs and developing cost-reduction strategies to ensure profitability.
